Whoops! \u00a0Where did the weekend go? \u00a0How can it be Monday night<\/del> Tuesday afternoon\u00a0already? \u00a0Contest stuff is starting to pick up again so if I forget to post you’ll know why. \u00a0I know I promised to show pictures of the book, but I’m putting that up as my Wordless Wednesday for tomorrow, so check back if you want to see that.<\/p>\n

Today I thought it might be fun to write a little more about this pregnancy.<\/p>\n

For those wondering, no, we did not plan this. \u00a0I think that’s pretty clear in our announcement picture… \ud83d\ude09 \u00a0The day we found out, Tim and I just looked at each other and laughed. \u00a0In fact, we pretty much chuckled the whole day. \u00a0What else can you do? \u00a0We were not upset or overwhelmed when we found out–just amused. \u00a0God sometimes has a funny sense of humor.<\/p>\n

So, 4 kids it is then!<\/p>\n

I will admit, the first thought that popped into my head was how much I didn’t want to be pregnant again. \u00a0I was really looking forward to being done with that phase of my life and having my own body back again. \u00a0But let’s be serious, I have it pretty easy as a pregnant woman. \u00a0I don’t get morning sickness or have any other complications, and all my kids have come full term. \u00a0(I mean, other than getting comically huge, that is.) \u00a0So, most of my disappointment about expecting a 4th child was purely selfish. \u00a0Once I got over that, I actually moved to excited pretty quick.<\/p>\n

Well, let me rephrase that. \u00a0Once I was SURE I was pregnant I move to excited quickly. \u00a0See, I wasn’t convinced that I actually was pregnant. \u00a0I know, I know… you laugh, but I felt totally normal. \u00a0Nothing out of the ordinary. \u00a0And I mean nothing. \u00a0When I went in last week for my first appointment and I was sitting in the room waiting for the midwife to come in I actually felt silly–like I was there for nothing! \u00a0I told her I would really like some confirmation that there was actually a baby in there, so she checked and sure enough there was a heartbeat. \u00a0 It was at that point that she told me that she thought I was probably further along that I thought. \u00a0I was thinking I was about 9 weeks along and she said I seemed to be more like 12 weeks. \u00a0I reminded her that I normally run big during pregnancy, so I was skeptical.<\/p>\n

So we scheduled a dating ultrasound to be sure. \u00a0And sure enough, there it was a little baby with moving arms and legs and everything just chillin’ out inside of me! \u00a0It was a little bit of a surreal experience since I felt totally normal so see how big it was already. \u00a0When I finally heard back from the ultrasound technician they agreed I was further along. \u00a0In fact, as of this past Saturday I am officially 12 weeks along. \u00a0That makes my due date on September 10th. \u00a0 Isn’t that crazy? \u00a0I mean, there goes pretty much the whole first trimester!<\/p>\n

I’m still just a tiny bit skeptical (very tiny). \u00a0So when I go in again for my 20 week ultrasound I’ll feel better. \u00a0When I went in for all the other kids at 20 weeks I measured right on, so theoretically I should measure right on for this one too.<\/p>\n

I suppose that’s enough for now. \u00a0Hopefully I’ve answered some of the questions that have crossed your mind. \u00a0 Happy Tuesday everyone!<\/p>\n
