Each class made their own special t-shirts so we could tell everyone apart<\/p><\/div>\n

Today was Chloe’s 1st grade track & field day at school. \u00a0I’m new to this whole thing, so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. \u00a0We had gorgeous weather–super sunny and clear, albeit a little on the warm side. \u00a0Chloe was able to choose three events that she wanted to do. \u00a0She chose: \u00a0low hurdles (we’re talking very, very low), hula hoop & \u00a0fox tail toss. \u00a0 So we watched her compete in her activities (they went in groups of 5, so it took a while to get through each activity) and cheered her on and then did a lot of waiting. \u00a0 Some of the other events included: \u00a0100 meter dash, 500 meter dash, hippity hop race, egg and spoon race, 3-legged race, bag race, shoe kick, vortex toss and tug of war. \u00a0Tim missed the activities, but made it back just in time to give her a hug and see all her bracelets. \u00a0In lieu of giving ribbons for placing, they earn bracelets in those colors instead. \u00a0I think it’s a fun idea and Chloe is loving showing off her bracelets.<\/p>\n

I was pleased that the air of the event wasn’t very competitive, but rather fun. \u00a0Chloe didn’t get first place in anything but did get second place in two of her activities–and the best part was that she didn’t care. \u00a0She was just excited to participate and earn a bracelet no matter what the color.<\/p>\n

The hula hoop competition was amazing. Some of those little girls can hula hoop like crazy! He had them hopping up and down, putting their hands on their heads, standing on one foot, spinning in circles, walking forwards and backwards and even going to their knees and back–ALL WHILE HULA HOOPING!<\/p><\/div>\n

Maddie was a little tricky since the event went from 9 – 12 and she normally naps from 9 – 11… but she did eventually fall asleep for a little bit in her stroller.<\/p>\n

Josiah had fun watching and cheering and hanging out with Grandma Patsy on the side lines. \u00a0There was even a 100 meter race that they invited all the younger sibling watching to participate in, so Josiah jumped up and took part of that. \u00a0They all raced (it was adorable) and Josiah won. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42 \u00a0He was pleased to earn his own blue bracelet.<\/p>\n

So pleased with himself!<\/p><\/div>\n

There was also a tug of war contest between all 5 of the classes. \u00a0It was double elimination so it took a while to whittle down the classes… Chloe’s class, however, was UNDEFEATED! \u00a0So they got to have a class picture taken (which will be displayed in the bookcase in school) and take the trophy to their classroom. \u00a0It was a big deal. \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
