{"id":11187,"date":"2016-11-18T15:20:43","date_gmt":"2016-11-18T21:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=11187"},"modified":"2016-11-18T15:20:43","modified_gmt":"2016-11-18T21:20:43","slug":"my-nemesis-laundry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=11187","title":{"rendered":"My nemesis = LAUNDRY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/laundry-helper-R.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11190\" src=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/laundry-helper-R.jpg\" alt=\"laundry-helper-r\" width=\"400\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/laundry-helper-R.jpg 680w, http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/laundry-helper-R-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Years ago, I laughed when I read about people who had a hard time getting their clean laundry put away.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ha!&#8221; \u00a0I used to think, &#8220;What&#8217;s is WRONG with those people. \u00a0I can\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">easily<\/span> wash, fold and put away all of my (and Tim&#8217;s) laundry in one day. \u00a0They are clearly not organized enough.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And then I had kids.<\/p>\n<p>I was already struggling with the laundry situation with just 3 kids, and then a 4th came into the picture. \u00a0And even though that little 4th addition is tiny, he sure burns through clothes like you wouldn&#8217;t believe! \u00a0And I look back on how I used to scoff at those who couldn&#8217;t get their clean laundry put away and laugh at how I struggle to even get the laundry WASHED! \u00a0So, laundry has become my nemesis.<\/p>\n<p>I have decided that we need a new laundry system. \u00a0That might be doing one load a day, or maybe folding clothes at the same time every day, or enlisting the kids help on set days&#8230; I have yet to figure out the perfect solution to my problem. \u00a0The good news is that both Chloe and Josiah can load the washer to get it started (only Chloe is tall enough to reach the soap though) and they can both unload the dryer to bring the clean clothes upstairs, so that&#8217;s progress. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Once upon a time I heard of a Mom who had created a &#8220;Family Laundry Room&#8221; where everyone kept their clothes. \u00a0And I mean ALL of the clothes. \u00a0The closests were empty. \u00a0There was a washer and dryer and iron in there and the clothes were washed then sorted and set in baskets for each child\/adult and then the dirty stuff went back into baskets to be washed and round and round it went. \u00a0I though it was really strange.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Somehow the idea of all the laundry being contained in one room is quite appealing to me at this stage of life. \u00a0Now, I&#8217;m not saying I would actually\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do<\/span> this. \u00a0I still feel more comfortable with the traditional laundry room and having clothes in closets, but I can see the appeal in it now that I couldn&#8217;t before. \u00a0No hauling baskets up and down stairs. \u00a0No sending piles of folded laundry to their rooms and hoping that they stay folded in the drawers (which they do not). \u00a0See?
