{"id":12586,"date":"2018-03-09T18:35:18","date_gmt":"2018-03-10T00:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=12586"},"modified":"2018-03-09T18:35:18","modified_gmt":"2018-03-10T00:35:18","slug":"im-still-alive-and-contest-weekend-is-officially-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=12586","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m still alive&#8230; and contest weekend is officially here."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Things were grooving along nicely with contest stuff until Sunday.\u00a0 I had been saying how much easier thing were getting&#8230; and then&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We had a big computer glitch that scheduled a whole ton of Sunday student the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opposite<\/span> of their time request, which meant&#8230;.<\/li>\n<li>The office had to complete redo the schedules for Sunday (a very big undertaking), which meant&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>I couldn&#8217;t get the materials last weekend to start putting everything together into the designated, but that actually turned out ok, becuase&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>I had NO volunteers to help me on Sunday.\u00a0 None.\u00a0 Well, unless you count Chloe, Josiah and Jennifer (who were very helpful, by the way!).\u00a0 But because no one showed up&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>I had to work on doing contest stuff basically non-stop from Sunday &#8211; Thursday in all my non-teaching hours.<\/li>\n<li>Oh, and the kids had a snow day on Monday and a late start on Tuesday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But I don&#8217;t mean to complain.\u00a0 Things could be much worse.\u00a0 And I have learned a few valuable lessons this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Chloe (and Josiah to some degree) can be good helpers with contest stuff now!<\/li>\n<li>We actually get a lot more done on volunteer Sundays than I thought<\/li>\n<li>I really do need to get the sheets of information before Wednesday the week of Contest.\u00a0 There is a lot I need to do with those sheets, and 2 days is just not enough time.<\/li>\n<li>Time on contest week seems to pass quicker than normal time.<\/li>\n<li>Our family likes potato &amp; ham soup.\u00a0 I made it in the crockpot this week and it was a hit.<\/li>\n<li>I have stress eaten a lot this week.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll have to get back on track soon otherwise I won&#8217;t have anything to wear soon!\u00a0 Eeeeks!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Things were grooving along nicely with contest stuff until Sunday.\u00a0 I had been saying how much easier thing were getting&#8230; and then&#8230;.
