{"id":12743,"date":"2018-05-07T17:18:36","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T22:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=12743"},"modified":"2018-05-07T17:18:36","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T22:18:36","slug":"goodbye-bottles-and-maddies-nuk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=12743","title":{"rendered":"Goodbye bottles and Maddie&#8217;s Nuk!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend was exciting.<\/p>\n<p>We officially threw away all the bottles.\u00a0 Yes, we have been basically done using them for a while now, but in the morning Tim gets up early with Levi and up until about a month ago he was still enjoying a bottle while all the rest of us were still sleeping.\u00a0 It really wasn&#8217;t necessary, but it was convenient and it kept him occupied and QUIET.\u00a0 But Tim decided it was time to move him on and up.\u00a0 So, up and away he went!\u00a0 His morning bottle has been out of circulation for about a month now, so we finally tossed all the bottles in the cupboard.\u00a0 And let me tell you, it felt good!\u00a0 No more washing bottles!\u00a0 Whoo hoo!<\/p>\n<p>And in other monumental news: We also took away Maddie&#8217;s nuk!\u00a0 Well, actually, after a particularly bad night (of having to get up multiple times to give kids nuks) I decided we needed to be done.\u00a0 And upon inspection, I discovered that the nuk was actually already starting to break, so I just enlarged the hole so it would be unusable.\u00a0 We then proceeded to prep her &#8220;Maddie is a big girl and doesn&#8217;t need any more nuks.\u00a0 Are you a big girl?\u00a0 Do you need a nuk?\u00a0 No!\u00a0 Yay!&#8221;\u00a0 And wouldn&#8217;t you know, it was almost a seamless transition!\u00a0 There wasn&#8217;t a huge breakdown like I thought there would be.\u00a0 She asked for her nuk and I reminded her that it was broken and yucky, and that was that!\u00a0 If I had known it would be that easy, I would have done it months ago!\u00a0 (Well, it probably wouldn&#8217;t have been that easy then.
