{"id":13253,"date":"2018-12-03T22:09:49","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T04:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=13253"},"modified":"2018-12-03T22:09:49","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T04:09:49","slug":"getting-into-the-christmas-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=13253","title":{"rendered":"Getting into the Christmas Spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I cannot believe it is December 3rd today.\u00a0 Say, Whaaaa!?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit lately.\u00a0 I think part of it was that there had been no snow on the ground and that really makes me feel festive.\u00a0 But it did snow this weekend, so now it&#8217;s starting to feel right.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-13255\" src=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cookies-done-R-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"692\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cookies-done-R.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cookies-done-R-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cookies-done-R-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday Jen came over and suggested that we make sugar cookies and decorate them with the kids.\u00a0 I said it sounded like fun, but I wasn&#8217;t super gung-ho about the idea.\u00a0 I knew the kids would like it, but I was fairly certain it would be messy and frustrating for me.<\/p>\n<p>Alas.\u00a0 I was wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it was messy.\u00a0 Yes, it was frustrating when Maddie sneezed on the cookies.\u00a0 Yes, It was time consuming. But YES&#8211;it was SO. MUCH.
