{"id":14430,"date":"2020-01-31T12:00:09","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T18:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=14430"},"modified":"2020-01-30T21:45:23","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T03:45:23","slug":"food-friday-adorable-grass-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=14430","title":{"rendered":"Food Friday: Adorable Grass Cake!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?attachment_id=14435\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14435\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14435\" src=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/grass-cake-R.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/grass-cake-R.jpg 768w, http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/grass-cake-R-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remember that Bible study I talked about starting?\u00a0 Well, I decided to make a cute (&#8220;punny&#8221;) cake with my amazing new small cake pans that I got for Christmas.\u00a0 My first attempt did NOT work.\u00a0 I was a bit overexcited and put 5 pans in the oven at the same time and they did not bake properly&#8230; It was a mushy mess.\u00a0 I actually took a video of it in case anyone wants proof that I do mess up!\u00a0 Hah!\u00a0 Sometimes people tend to think I always get things right on my first try, and that is definitely NOT the case!<\/p>\n<p>But the next day I tried again and the cakes turned out much better, and then I got to the part I actually love the most&#8211;frosting!\u00a0 I used a butter cream frosting for the outside.\u00a0 I love that I now know how to make it.\u00a0 The recipe I love most is actually the creme filling for homemade oatmeal creme pies.\u00a0 (Which are AMAZINGLY delicious).\u00a0 I&#8217;ll link the recipe below.\u00a0 I have used it now a few times when I want to make a really bold colored frosting.
