Today my baby girl turns 2 years old.\u00a0 It’s wonderful. \u00a0 It is pretty much impossible for me to imagine what life was like without her now.\u00a0 And she has suddenly started to seem much older to me–especially after not seeing her for a few days.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 <\/p>\n

We had our family celebration yesterday night, b\/c I knew today would be a bit rushed with both of us going back to work.\u00a0 And, let’s face it, she doesn’t know the difference.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 She was VERY EXCITED about the gifts and the cake, but NOT about the candle.\u00a0 Maybe I’ve gone a bit overboard on telling her fire is dangerous when she sees my candles burning.\u00a0 Hmmm… another thing to work on. \u00a0 She also had a bit of trouble getting her gifts open only being able to use one hand.\u00a0 Tim had to help her a lot.<\/p>\n

In all honesty, today has been a pretty lousy day so far.\u00a0 The early morning was fine:\u00a0 up for breakfast, Tim off to work, playing with new birthday toys… but then about mid morning, she smashed her pointer finger in her dresser drawer.<\/p>\n

It was stuck and I had to actually yank the drawer and her finger to get it out.\u00a0 The nail turned purple almost immediately.\u00a0 And this was on her “good hand”… poor girl. \u00a0 And if that wasn’t enough, a little bit later, she came running through the kitchen (forgetting that she was wearing socks for the first time in a long time) and did a nasty wipe-out.\u00a0 It looks like she got a little floor burn above her lip and a tiny bloody nose.\u00a0 And so, from that point on, she’s been in a very fragile emotional state–everything I say “no” to evokes a gigantic melt-down.\u00a0 So, I put her down for her nap early today.\u00a0 I’m just praying that she’s better for the nanny!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
