Thursday morning is garage sale day.\u00a0 Chloe and I eat a leisurely breakfast and then we head out to see what garage sales are open around town.\u00a0 There were a lot of sales today.\u00a0 But I’m pretty picky about what items make the cut these days, especially since we go out every week.\u00a0 At this point I won’t\u00a0 spend more than $1-2 on anything and if I find a sale with $.25 items I tend to stock up.\u00a0 Like this morning I was able to get 4 nice long sleeve shirts for Chloe for $.25 each for the fall\/winter.\u00a0\u00a0 Plus I got her 2 pairs of capris for under $1 and a pair of sandals for $2.\u00a0\u00a0 And even though we didn’t come home with a boat load of stuff I feel good about the stuff we did get.\u00a0 It’s so nice to find great deals.<\/p>\n
I had toyed with the idea of going out to St. Boni to go to the neighborhood sale there but by the time we got home I was pooped.\u00a0\u00a0 So we decided to just work a little in the yard before heading in for lunch. \u00a0\u00a0 And it was a good thing I didn’t go, because we had an unexpected visitor stop by during lunch (one of my piano teacher friends) to drop something off.<\/p>\n
Tim brought the boat home on Monday (it’s stored at the stone yard over the winter) so he and Chloe have been working on cleaning it out in the evenings.\u00a0 We’ve decided the time has come to sell the boat.\u00a0 It makes me really sad because I know Tim enjoys having a boat and I know it would be a source of memories for our kids… but at this point in our lives we can’t justify the cost of keeping it when he works such long hours in the summer.\u00a0 By the time he gets home he’s too tired to want to head out on the boat.\u00a0 He’d rather just veg in the air-conditioning (and I can’t blame him!) and watch t.v.\u00a0 The only problem is we need to sell it for as much as the pay off loan balance is, so it might take a while to find just the right person who wants it and can afford it.\u00a0 It’s a nice boat, but people aren’t buying recreational items as much these days (it seems).\u00a0 So, we’ll see.\u00a0 For now maybe we’ll be able to get out one or two more times before we sell it.\u00a0 I’m hopeful that Chloe will have a few memories of the boat… \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
