Today is officially summer in this household.<\/p>\n

I know, I know… it’s not REALLY summer yet, but back in the winter when Chloe would ask day after day “when is summer?” I finally settled on the answer of “after my studio recitals.”<\/p>\n

And she has an unusually<\/em> good memory.<\/p>\n

So she woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, put on her new summer outfit, ran in to my bedroom (where I was happily sleeping, er, strike that, HAD been sleeping) and announced “IT’S SUMMER!<\/strong><\/span>”<\/p>\n

It took quite a bit of coercion to get her into a more sensible (60 degree weather) outfit and then more discussion about how it really wasn’t<\/span> the perfect day to go to the beach.\u00a0\u00a0 Or to run in the sprinkler.\u00a0\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We did have fun today, in spite of dashing all her hopes and dreams of what summer was going to be like.\u00a0 We got to spend a lot of time at the park (because of a house showing this morning) and I even set up their tent in the yard.\u00a0\u00a0 I can’t believe we were ever able to set that up in my studio when we gave it to them at Christmas–it’s HUGE!\u00a0 They’ve been having a blast playing it in for hours now…<\/p>\n
