{"id":9914,"date":"2017-01-12T12:00:08","date_gmt":"2017-01-12T18:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/?p=9914"},"modified":"2017-01-12T14:07:29","modified_gmt":"2017-01-12T20:07:29","slug":"december-flashback-little-girls-baking-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/friesens.inkingmythinking.com\/?p=9914","title":{"rendered":"December Flashback:  Little Girls&#8217; Baking Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They day I had all of my girlfriends over to make Christmas goodies Chloe was QUITE disappointed that she would not be able to help us bake. \u00a0I tried to explain to her that this was my girl time and the Mom&#8217;s wanted some kid-free time. That was clearly not what she wanted to hear. \u00a0She was pretty upset at me. \u00a0So, I shared my woes with the first friend, Lisa, that showed up and she mentioned that\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">her<\/span> daughter (just slightly younger than Chloe) had also mentioned how she wanted to come along to bake. \u00a0Lisa said something that really stuck with me&#8211;she said she wanted to encourage her daughter to have a love of cooking and baking NOW while she was interested. \u00a0I mean, I know I <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">love<\/span><\/strong> being in the kitchen so I need to make sure I&#8217;m letting Chloe (and all the kids for that matter) help me in the kitchen and start to learn those skills.<\/p>\n<p>So, after a little more conversing, we decided the best course of action would be to get the two girls together and let them have their very own &#8220;baking day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/15672715_10209545177763566_7293862302804176212_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11358\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They made three things: \u00a0Peanut butter cookies, Snowball cookies and Chocolate dipped pretzels.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amadeusacademy.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/little-girls-baking-day-R.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11283\" it!<\/p>\n<p>They were measuring and cracking eggs and mixing and dipping and &#8220;sprinkling&#8221; and rolling and snacking(!) happily. \u00a0It was a great experience for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><a
