Clean

Ah, clean.

Yes.

I’m in a car wash.

I love watching something get clean when I’m not the one doing the work.  But I especially enjoy car washes.  The satisfaction of watching it scrub all the dirt and streaks and handprints from the side of our nice shiny black van.  I love our new van, but black sure shows dirt a lot faster than our light blue van used to.

After we cleaned out the garage this weekend (and using the leaf blower to “sweep” the dirt and leaves out of the garage) the van was covered in gunk.  So, to reward myself, I took a nice large load to Goodwill and then got a car wash.

I would have taken a picture of the garage, but since you don’t have a frame of reference, it probably wouldn’t be impressive to you.  But to us, it’s nice and clean!

Friends who go to Valleyfair together, stay together.

Josiah has a 2 friends at church that he loves to hang out with: Zeke & Toby.  They also happen to be cousins.  They also happen to a part of the church crew that come over every week to watch football.  They also have season Valleyfair passes.  They also love to take Josiah along to Valleyfair.

🙂

It’s a win-win.  Well, unless they lock you in the pillory… Tee hee!

The past year or two they had an awesome dinosaur display inside the park.  Since Toby (seen above) is SUPER into dinosaurs they have taken advantage of going to visit it many times. As I understand it, there are huge dinosaurs that make noise and you can walk through and learn different facts.  But this month is the last month it will be here.  It is scheduled to be removed and a new attraction will be moving in.  So, they went yesterday for one final visit.

They even all posed as dinosaurs…  I’m glad they are able to hang out together.  What fun childhood memories.

Fall break continues

We enjoyed a beautiful pink sunrise this morning as we ate our breakfast.  It really doesn’t photograph well… but it was a brilliant shade of pink.

Then we spent some time playing outside–well, they played and I mowed the lawn…. Josiah was excited to make a leaf pile at the bottom of the slide.  He was insistent that I take a picture.

We’re battling a little bit of Fall sickness right now.  Mostly just icky colds, but it’s really hitting Tim hard.  And he’s needing to be working in the field full time right now because of Nicks injury, and then another worker smashed his finger this week as well…  ugh.  Just fractured, but still.   Needless to say, he’s really wiped out.  So, if you think of it, pray for healing and less stress.

Tough Piano Practice

This morning I got creative with keeping Chloe from looking at her hands when she plays piano.  I didn’t have time to stand next to her and cover her hands, but I discovered my teaching desk (A.K.A. a bedside table) works fabulously at covering her hands for me!

(Note: It was pajama day at school–hence the morning practice in her comfy jammies!)

Adorable Maddie

Isn’t she adorable in her Preschool T-shirt?  They had an in-house field trip to the fire station today.  That means the fire truck actually came to the preschool instead of them going to the fire station.  It actually makes way more sense for them since their class time is so short and then they don’t have to worry about busing them…She was SUPER excited.

My favorite Mug

I love this mug.

I got it from a student who graduated two years ago.  I’m guessing he didn’t pick it out himself, but it still makes me think of him.  🙂  It’s crazy to have been teaching long enough to have students travel through their whole school career and be off at college now.  What fun to have them from start to finish.

I love my job.
