Writing about all the big & little things
I’m pleased to announce that we’ve officially hired a worship director at our church. It’s been a taxing couple of months on Tim and I (well, more on Tim since he’s pretty much been in charge since Christian left) but we’ve had the opportunity to put the word out and finally offered the position to Keldon. He’s actually a recent graduate of Crown College. 🙂 And when I introduced myself to him I told him I was “Nathan Fritz’s sister” and that did the trick.
But since I’m short on time and my Pastor did a fantastic job of explaining… here’s what Pastor John posted on his site: (oh, and just in case you’re wondering, his site is: http://johnlaeger.typepad.com I hope he doesn’t mind me stealing his great post!)

Woo Hoo!
The last two weeks we have had the honor of having Keldon Ellis come and lead the MeadowBAND and the rest of us in worship and it has been awesome! So awesome that we invited him to join our staff as Director of Worship.
He said “Yes!”
Woo Hoo!
Not only does Keldon have extensive experience in leading worship and worship bands, but his musical ability is one of excellence. I have had individuals who understand music comment to me that his tone is clear and his pitch is right on! If you have been at Meadow the last couple weeks, you have experienced his leadership.
His heart for worship, the church, and serving Jesus are clear and his passion to do whatever it takes to draw people into worship and a strong relationship with Jesus becomes evident within minutes of talking with him.
Keldon is a graduate of Crown College with a degree in Worship Arts and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Ministry Leadership. He is on staff at Crown and leads the school’s traveling worship band “LifeVoice”. He is originally from Iowa but currently lives in Waconia.
Keldon’s staff position at Meadow is temporary part-time which just means he has committed to Meadow for the next six months with the intention of becoming permanent part-time (which we believe will happen!)
Keldon can be contacted at keldon@meadowspring.org. He will be in the office on Thursdays, Saturday mornings, and of course here on Sundays.
Why not send him an email and greet him with a great Meadow Spring welcome! Let him know you will be praying for him and the MeadowBAND as we begin this new ministry partnership!
Welcome to Meadow Keldon!
It’s been a busy day:
~ early to church for worship team
~ home for lunch and clean up house
~ made cookies for small group
~ small group at our house during the kids naps
~ Baker’s over for their piano lessons after small group
~ Jen & Patsy stopped by on their way back from South Dakota; had a nice chat before going their separate ways
~ cleaned living room carpet
~ and now I’m sitting down to do my Bible study before it’s time for bed! I guess practicing piano will have to wait until tomorrow… It’s funny that as I re-read this it really doesn’t sound like much at all, but it sure felt like a busy day! 🙂
* Kristen: be warned this post has images of food–sorry! *
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I thought I’d share a few images from our day. It’s fun now that Chloe is getting old enough to understand holidays. 🙂
My desk. It’s an adjustable height, rolling, non-tilt desk, so I can now teach standing or sitting. 🙂 Isn’t that so cool? I know! I’ve been trying to stand more while teaching since I spend so much of my day sitting. If I can stand even for just part of my teaching time it will help. Baby steps to a healthier me! 🙂
I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s!
The other day Chloe put on her Niagra Falls shirt so I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures to show Nana. I don’t know what it is about this outfit, but I think she looks so GROWN UP! 🙂
… Cute kids…
… Stinky Dog…
… not enough time in my day…
… making progress on my piano songs…
… “crazy winter” weather…
… full teaching schedule…
… failed attempt at making cookies…
… I’ll take more pictures this weekend…
Well, Tim and I both agreed–it was a disappointing game and a disappointing show of commercials. I remember a time (ha! doesn’t that make me sound old?) when the commercials were jaw-dropping-pee-your-pants-funny. Or at least they were really entertaining. There was only one or two this year that we were really impressed with. My favorite one was probably this one… but in order to fully find the humor in it, you have to watch this one from last year first… 🙂
And this was the one from this year…
Tim pointed out that I didn’t answer the question that was probably left on everyone’s mind after my last post…
“Well, did you ever figure out what was in your ceiling?”
And the answer is: No.
We still don’t know what is up there–and we haven’t heard it for a few days now either. We’re hopeful that whatever it was has found is way out (never to return again).
🙂
