Writing about all the big & little things
Here’s the long awaited picture of the garage! Ok, I’m sure it’s not long awaited, but some of you were probably mildly curious. As a reference I’ve reposted the pictures of what it looked like before…
And, drum roll please, the (mostly) finished space!
Yesterday Chloe woke up and got herself dressed and even DID HER OWN HAIR! She came down and spun around for me, and I have to say I was impressed. She’s definitely developing more and more of what she thinks looks good and is starting to buck what I want her to wear (unless I’m able to talk up the outfit as being SO AMAZING!) 😉
Here’s her outfit and hair…
Then there’s Josiah sitting across the table from her munching away on his cereal… being as goofy as can be!
Well, I’m pleased to say that my cold/sickness is basically gone. Miraculously, too, I might add. I was beyond belief miserable on Monday and by Thursday it was almost completely gone. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Even though it might sound silly…….. PRAYER WORKS 🙂
However, the kids seem to have caught something and now we’re all not sleeping well–since they are coughing that means I’m also up worried about them coughing. Last night Josiah was having trouble breathing so I sat with him in the bathroom with the hot shower going for a while to steam it out for a while. It really did seem to help. I’m hoping tonight goes better…
Ugh! Fall germs are the worst!
We’ve had a delightfully full week of seeing family & friends….
Wednesday – Saturday: Chloe at Nana & Bumpa’s house
Friday: Josiah’s Birthday!
Saturday: Kailynn over for a sleepover
Sunday: Kailynn still here this morning. Met up with Grandma Patsy & Logan & Allison at chuch. Lunch at Pizza ranch with all of the above plus Jennifer & Kieren, then home to hang out and have more cupcakes for Josiah’s birthday. Kumi and Peter stopped by mid afternoon to drop off a gift for Josiah and the girl cousins played in the sprinkler.
See? Lots of fun!
This weekend was the Annandale triathlon that Kristen, Jeremy, Ryan & Stephanie like to participate in–so that’s why we all had the kids. I haven’t heard how it went, but I’m assuming it went well. It was good weather–a little rainy this morning, but at least it was cooler. The cousins had a great time playing and this was Chloe’s first official sleepover, which was very fun.
All in all, a great fun! Now onto some pictures!
Today is officially summer in this household.
I know, I know… it’s not REALLY summer yet, but back in the winter when Chloe would ask day after day “when is summer?” I finally settled on the answer of “after my studio recitals.”
And she has an unusually good memory.
So she woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, put on her new summer outfit, ran in to my bedroom (where I was happily sleeping, er, strike that, HAD been sleeping) and announced “IT’S SUMMER!”
It took quite a bit of coercion to get her into a more sensible (60 degree weather) outfit and then more discussion about how it really wasn’t the perfect day to go to the beach. Or to run in the sprinkler. 🙂
We did have fun today, in spite of dashing all her hopes and dreams of what summer was going to be like. We got to spend a lot of time at the park (because of a house showing this morning) and I even set up their tent in the yard. I can’t believe we were ever able to set that up in my studio when we gave it to them at Christmas–it’s HUGE! They’ve been having a blast playing it in for hours now…
The other morning Josiah wanted to have breakfast with his tiger… so I set them both up at the table and he proceeded to “talk” to his tiger while he ate. 🙂 It made me giggle…
We love our bubbles around here–we even have fancy (cheap!) battery operated bubble wands that the kids just love to use. And now that the sun is finally out today, we took that opportunity to spend some time outside enjoying the sun.
