Weekend Pictures: Fun in the leaves

DSC_0033

The cousins (minus Abby)

I have too many pictures to post on one day… so these are our fun leaf pictures from when we went to St. Cloud on Saturday.  Fun times by all!

The grown up kids in the leaves... :)

The kids played and ran around outside while the grown-ups worked inside.  We didn’t finish everything we hoped to, but in my opinion we were able to cross a good amount of little items off the list.  Any amount of progress is still progress, right?

Then we all made our way over to Ryan & Stephanie’s house where Peggy (Patsy’s twin sister) made us homemade Fleischkuekle (pronounced something like:  Fl-eye-sh Kee-kluh).  It’s a German dish and the basic concept is ground beef (mixed with some other things) wrapped in dough and deep fried.  Yum….. 🙂

Here’s a picture I found on the internet that looks very similar to how they turned out on Saturday.

Unresolved

Well, I guess we’ll just have to let the great PB&J issue remain unresolved since it appears everyone has their own method.  I am seriously amazed that almost every person has a different way of making a basic sandwich.  What an amusing debate!  🙂

Tomorrow we’re heading to St. Cloud to work on some unfinished projects at Patsy’s house.  It should be a fun day hanging out with family and getting projects wrapped up.

Then on Sunday Chloe and I are heading down to Owatonna to see Stacy and their new puppy!

It’s going to be a fun weekend!

Mishmash of news for today

Today is my lesson sign-up day. I love sign-up day because everything finally falls into place… although it is a bit of a crazy morning around here getting emails and phone calls and trying to schedule and send confirmation emails as fast as my fingers will go! But I still love the feeling of it all coming together.

Today is also Dad’s birthday–so HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! 🙂 Chloe and I were supposed to make a cute card together and somehow time slipped away from us and we didn’t get it done, so it will be coming late…..

Today the kids are at Baker’s house. They actually spent the night there since my sign up started so early and I wouldn’t have time to drive them there this morning before everything got started. I’m hopeful that they are being good….. 🙂

And finally, Today we go to look at the rental. I’m excited and apprehensive at the same time. I really like the rental but we have to decide if it’s worth it to only be able to stay there one month… We’ll know more after we see it today (actually this evening).

I hope you’re all having a great Monday!

Pictures galore!

We’ve had a delightfully full week of seeing family & friends….

Wednesday – Saturday: Chloe at Nana & Bumpa’s house

Friday:  Josiah’s Birthday!

Saturday: Kailynn over for a sleepover

Sunday: Kailynn still here this morning.  Met up with Grandma Patsy & Logan & Allison at chuch.  Lunch at Pizza ranch with all of the above plus Jennifer & Kieren, then home to hang out and have more cupcakes for Josiah’s birthday.  Kumi and Peter stopped by mid afternoon to drop off a gift for Josiah and the girl cousins played in the sprinkler.

See?  Lots of fun!

This weekend was the Annandale triathlon that Kristen, Jeremy, Ryan & Stephanie like to participate in–so that’s why we all had the kids.   I haven’t heard how it went, but I’m assuming it went well.  It was good weather–a little rainy this morning, but at least it was cooler.  The cousins had a great time playing and this was Chloe’s first official sleepover, which was very fun.

All in all, a great fun!  Now onto some pictures!

Happy Anniversary to us!

On Friday Tim and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary. Yay for us!  🙂

It’s amazing how much has happened in the past 10 years–and how fast the time seems to whiz by.  Marriage has been harder than I expected but so much sweeter than I could have imagined as well.  I feel tremendously blessed:  Blessed to have a husband willing to stick by me no matter what.  Blessed to have such cheerful, darling children.  Blessed to have a roof over our house (at least for now!).  Blessed to be able to have a career I enjoy.  I could go on an on…

Oh, and did I mention….blessed to have a husband who will be silly and laugh with me too!  😉

We enjoyed a wonderful date (thanks to Patsy for offering to babysit for us!) at Cheesecake factory.  Then we walked around the southdale mall looking for the perfect anniversary gift.  I was really hoping that we would be able to do something really special to commemorate 10 years together, but alas, we are broke in the process of trying to get out from under our house, so we had to opt for a gift of $20 or less.  It’s all good though, because we had a really fun time walking around the mall looking at our options.  Believe it or not, we both agreed on…. wait for it….

our very first family Bingo set!

We agreed that, while Bingo is not the most romantic anniversary gift… it is something we could use for many years, and have fun as a family, and it cost exactly $20.  So, that’s what we got!  And the kids LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  In fact Chloe was so excited that she could hardly go to bed that night… and the next morning Josiah played with the wheel for at least 45 min. before I pried it out of his hands.

Tune back in tomorrow for the exciting conclusion to our hand railing adventure!

Date Weekend.

This weekend was jam packed with fun!

Saturday…

…the kids and I went with Jen to the beach for the morning.  It was a little cloudy to start off, but eventually the sun came out and it warmed up nicely.  We have definitely been to the beach more than we ever have in before.  We’re getting good use out of our yearly passes that we purchased!  Then after we got back, Tim & I went out on a date to see the new Superman movie.  It was excellent.  It’s by far my favorite Superman movie yet.

Sunday…

…Tim was on worship team and I helped serve in the nursery.  After lunch, Chloe & I went on a date to see Disney’s Aladdin Jr. at the Children’s theater company called “Stages” located in Hopkins.  One of the families that I teach gave us two free tickets to see whatever show we wanted, so this was it!  This was the first time Chloe had been to a real musical and she LOVED it.  In the middle of the show she leaned over and whispered, “Mom, this is the BEST show EVER!”  I just loved watching how much she enjoyed herself.  Plus the show is designed for kids so it was only an hour and was very entertaining.  They even had booster seats to put on the theater chairs and a photo place.  Fun, eh?

Happy 4th of July–and other GREAT NEWS!

I hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July.  Our was wonderful.

4th of july

It had been a couple of stressful days around here leading up to the 4th, but we finally have some information to share:

OUR HOUSE HAS SOLD!   We had a showing on Friday morning and they submitted an offer on Friday afternoon.  We countered and they countered and we finally all agreed… But we weren’t convinced that this was really going to happen yet, since our last offer fell through after the home inspection.  So, the inspection was Wednesday morning and all they wanted added was a simple $40 addition to the home warranty for the water softener.  Whew!  We were totally floored!  I mean, very very very happy, but I was still really surprised that they didn’t find anything else to complain about after the inspection…  Especially since the last one pulled out after the inspection–we were starting to worry that there was something we didn’t know about this house!

funny faces!

At this point we are only waiting on the appraisal before we really breath a sigh of relief (which they say will happen in the next week or two).  And if there are no unforeseen crazy scenarios to thwart this process we are scheduled for an August 30th closing date.

Of course then we have the issue of needing to find a new house for us…. we did go house hunting this past weekend (after receiving the offer on Friday) and we found a PERFECT house that we loved.  It had been on the market less than a week and we made an offer that day (above list price) but we were outbid.  I’m bummed (because it was so awesome) but I also know that we need to be patient on God’s timing.  The last thing I want to do now is try to get ourselves into a house that we’re not meant to be after all this waiting to actually sell our current house!  So, I’ll continue to watch the market like a hawk and see what opens up.  I’m just sure the perfect house is out there just waiting to come on the market!  🙂

standing 4th of july

Oh, and Happy 4th of July!  We relaxed at home most of the day.  Chloe and I went to an afternoon parade with the Bakers and Jen, then we came home and watched Despicable Me, roasted S’mores in our fire pit and then watched the fireworks on T.V.  (Yup.  On T.V.  It works out better that way, since we don’t want to keep the kids up that late and we’re not big fans of mosquitoes.  😉 )  All in all a great day.

And the best part is having a messy house this morning and knowing I can keep it messy since we’re done with showings!!!!!!!
