Piano Contest Preliminaries were this past weekend. I had less students involved this year because of the shortened start to my school year (because of my maternity leave). By the time I started teaching this Fall it was already mid-October so I just didn’t have time to get the older students started and the younger ones weren’t ready to tackle a contest piece after just starting back into their method books… but I did have 9 participate. Most of them were students who had played in the past and asked me about being able to do it again. 🙂 And I’m happy to report that 7 or the 9 get to move on to finals! Yippie! I’m so proud of all their hard work!

Congratulations to all of them.
I’ve been asked to judge for the local Federated Music club contest the first weekend in March. I’m excited to do that! I did it once before in Eau Claire, but I think I’ll do better this time!
