Writing about all the big & little things

Tough

Tim and I have had many conversations lately about our church and the surprise of our worship pastor, Christian, leaving so suddenly.  We both feel strongly that this is where we are meant to be right now and are committed to our church and pastor.  And I’ve come to really enjoy being a part of the worship team–I feel like I’m helping contribute my talents.   So we’re left reeling after yesterday’s discovery.  I can’t help but feel a bit hurt by his decision to leave without giving a reason.  It’s hard when you think you’re friends with someone and then are left with the realization that maybe we didn’t know him as well as we thought.   Yet I think our pastor nailed it on the head when he said this today, (in an email sent to the church):

While his resignation was stated without reason, we believe God is sovereign and that

this is the best step for both Meadow and Christian.

And that’s really the point to remember.  God is sovereign.  He can work through any situation at any time and in any way.  My prayer is that we can stay unified as a church and remember what’s most important–sharing God’s love and the good news with as many people as possible.

A very mature response on your and Tim’s part. So many things in life can’t be figured out, so we just accept them and move on.
