Gearing up for an exciting day/night!

Tonight we are having all the cousins over to go trick-or-treating with Chloe and Josiah and then they are all having a sleep over here.  Fun, right?  I know!  I’m so excited for everyone to come and have a good time together.  I’ll take pictures (of course!) but I probably won’t have time to post them until later this weekend.  Right now I need to get the house cleaned up and ready for 7 kids + 4 adults to find a place to sleep!

A turn in the weather

Today is chilly.

Quite a bit cooler than the past couple of weeks.  We’ve had a wonderful Fall this year with dozens of delightfully warm and beautiful days, so walking to the bus this morning was a bit less enjoyable.  I was looking out the windows this afternoon and I realized the clouds and wind make it look like snow weather.  And believe it or not… it didn’t bum me out.

I do enjoy the first snowfalls of the season.  And as a whole I do enjoy snow–just not so much the continued cold.  Snow is so pretty and white.  And even though the days are shorter in the winter, the snow reflecting the sun makes it very bright outside when the sun is actually out.  🙂

But enough about winter…. How about one more adorable picture of us enjoying the beautiful fall weather… enjoying it before it’s gone for good!

Computer issues

I haven’t been able to post for a couple days because my firefox won’t open… and wouldn’t you know that’s where I had all my tabs and links saved…  it’s the strangest thing.   I’ll have to see if I can fix that soon.

Anyway, we’re having some church friends over tomorrow–gotta enjoy these beautiful fall days while we can!  And who doesn’t love getting together and eating fall foods?!   So, I’ll try and take some pictures and write more later.  For now, I’ll leave you with another adorable picture of Chloe and Josiah.  I know, I know, I just can’t seem to stop posting pictures of them… 😉

Busy Weekend Ahead

This weekend we are heading to South Dakota for Tim’s Cousin’s wedding.  Actually Tim is heading out tomorrow with Josiah and Patsy because he has to sing in the wedding so he needs to be there for the rehearsal.  Chloe and I are riding with Jennifer and we’re leaving on Saturday morning and then coming back on Sunday morning.  So, it will be a travel filled couple of days!

It will be so strange to only have Chloe for tomorrow evening–we’re going to have a quiet dinner for sure!  And then she’s going to have to do crafts and entertain herself while I teach tomorrow evening, but I’m not worried.

Corn Stalk

There is it–the lone corn stalk. It didn’t get very big, but it was “replanted” quite late in the season…

See?  It’s pretty funny isn’t it?  I feel he’s so lonely over here looking longingly at his fellow corn stalks happily having a party across the street.   My neighbor must this it’s amusing too seeing as he’s clearly mowing AROUND the stalk.  🙂

5 random tidbits of information

1.  Chloe’s favorite breakfast item is Waffles

2.   Josiah’s favorite breakfast item vanilla Greek yogurt

3.  I watched the movie God’s Not Dead this weekend.  It was good.

4.  There is a corn stalk growing in our neighbors yard from when it flooded earlier this summer.  Somehow one single corn stalk replanted itself in the boulevard.  It’s very funny.  I should take a picture.

5.  This weekend Chloe learned the difference between writing “two” and “to.”  She was very excited.

Time to pull out the fall decorations.

Yup, that’s right.  The green rubbermaid container has made it appearance in the house to unpack all of my wonderful fall decorations.

I just love fall.

It’s my favorite season.  Hands down.  I’m sure there are lots of people who share my love of all things fall… I mean, what’s NOT to love?  Sweaters?  Hot apple cider?  Apple pies?  Trees changing colors?  Green lawns with flecks of colored leaves?  Fancy scarves?  The cool breeze coming through the windows in the morning?  I mean… come on!  I love them all!

I don’t really remember fall last year since we were in the middle of moving.  I do remember, that because of the timing of moving, I put out my fall decorations right when we moved in.  But that’s about all.

Josiah has been excitedly telling me all about the trees changing colors every day that we drive to pick up the nanny’s from school.  There are quite a few nice bright red trees that he particularly enjoys.  🙂
