Mom & Dad, I love you both so much and I wish you a wonderful day!

That made me smile (still!) #7.5

Here are the after pictures of the stucco.  We think we’ll need to smear some dirt on the new parts to make them a little less white, but overall we’re SO pleased at how it turned out.  All the cracks over the entire house have been repaired.  Yippie!

That made me smile… well, sort of…. #6

Today we sat down for lunch and everything was peachy.  We were eating our food and Josiah, who has now graduated to sitting at the table with us in his booster chair, was just about ready to finish up (he eats way faster then the rest of us) when there was a knock at the door.

It was a lady from down the street returning my serving platters that I had sent along for a music teachers’ meeting this morning (we decided not to go since I didn’t have a sitter for the kids).  Anyway, I forgot what a talker this lady is… she’s very sweet and has interesting things to say, but she’s very chatty.  I could hear the kids inside giggling and yelling at Dende, and then Chloe finished and came out to see what I was doing.  I kept sending her back into check on Josiah, who by now was LONG done with his food and getting antsy.  It must have been a good 10-15 min…  I was trying to politely say I needed to go, but it wasn’t going well.

Suddenly Chloe ran up to me yelling, “Josiah’s standing on the table!”

I quickly and abruptly ended our conversation and ran inside.

Yup.  There he was standing happily in the middle of the table playing with the hanging light.  He looked at me as I came bounding into the dining room and gave me a beaming smile, showing how proud he was of himself.

I resisted the urge to smile and take a picture (I don’t want to encourage this!) but it was pretty cute.  I mean other than the fact that it was dangerous and wrong.  Other than that, it was cute.

And it made me smile.  After I got him down and turned away from him so he couldn’t see… 😉

That made me smile! #4

I got to see Shannon yesterday!  It’s been a really long time since we’ve been able to hang out and see each other, so it was a fantastic visit.  However, it was cut short by having to come home early and take Josiah to the minute clinic (apparently he has a double ear infection)… but our time together was WONDERFUL!

Spending time with Shannon makes me smile. 🙂

That made me smile! #3

Again, I know this wasn’t from today (but I had a bunch of fun pictures I found on the camera!) but this made me smile.  On Sunday we had the Bakers over for their piano lessons and the two young girls ended up watching a movie together on the couch…

And, THAT’S what made me smile on Sunday.

I mean, really, how could you NOT smile?

I mean, really, how could you NOT smile?  Even the koolaid mustache on Chloe makes me smile a little… 😉

That made me smile! #2

I know this wasn’t from today, but it still made me smile!  This was actually as I was deep cleaning the house on Tuesday preparing for the showings we had on Wednesday (we ended up having FOUR that day!).  I looked up while cleaning the stove top and realized one of the bulbs was out on our stove light.  When I replaced it it was AMAZINGLY brighter but then I noticed that the cover seemed to be a little dirty… and what I thought was a LITTLE dirty ended up being VERY dirty!

But in the end a clean light cover plus an extra bulb makes my stove seem brand new!

And THAT’S what made me smile on Tuesday!

Um... just a little dirty?

Um… just a little dirty?

And so we wait.

The inspection is done and now we wait to see what’s in store for this old house. I talked briefly with the home inspector and he said the big issues he could see right off the bat were the cracks in the stucco (which we already knew about) and the shingles on the garage (which we also already knew about). The shingles are pretty ratty and warped, but it hasn’t created any leaking that we know of. I guess we’ll wait and see if those things are a big deal to the buyer.

I’ll keep you posted!

Happy Birthday Luke!

I want to wish my brother a very Happy Birthday! I hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy some cake and gifts and wonderful family time.

Oh, and wish the rest of you out there a Happy Tax Day!

🙂

Cheers, everyone!
