Writing about all the big & little things

Better. But different…

So, my dear helpful brother, Nathan, helped me fix the problem with the italics (yippie!).  However, I had to also update a bunch of things which made my current background not work anymore… and we all know how much I love change…  🙂  Oh, well.  Life goes on.  I’m still delighted to have the problem fixed even if I can’t have the pretty background.  Besides, this new one is very pretty too.

Trouble.

So, it appears my website has been hacked.  That’s why everything is in italics (Mom, it appears the same thing has happened to your site as well…so once I figure out how to fix mine I’ll work on yours as well).  Tim thinks it’s just a robot and nothing serious–but definitely annoying.  Unfortunately it’s going to take a lot of brain power for me to fix it, so I’ll have to work on that this weekend…  I don’t have the energy to deal with it today.

Grrrrr…

The case of the missing key

We seem to have lost our extra car key.  It really bums me out because apparently replacing one of those fancy keys is VERY expensive (well, for a key, at least!).  But we need to have an extra key–especially with 2 small children.  We normally don’t lose important things like this.  It’s so frustrating!  I can usually deep clean the house and come across what I’m searching for, but not this time… We noticed it was missing just after Thanksgiving.  None of you have come across a key have you?

No?

Bummer.  Well, it was worth a try!

Our Worship Band

This morning a gal at church (who happens to be married to the Director of Tech Ministries) put together a video of the band practicing.  I thought it was fun, so I thought I would share.  We sang the song in the background today during the service, but the one used in the video is sung by the actual artist, Jon Foreman.  I thought she did a nice job recording the footage and putting it all together.

Oh, and yes, I know it wasn’t the most flattering outfit–but when I chose the outfit, I also had no idea she would be recording us!

And it’s very distracting trying to NOT look at the camera.  I look so sour… haha!

One more random tidbit of information–the worship pastor and his family traveled to WI (where his wife grew up) to the funeral of her Grandfather this week. Guess where it was? Waukesha. Small word, huh? 🙂 Well, I guess Waukesha is really NOT small, but still I thought it was funny that we were talking after church and we both said “my grandparents live in Waukesha.” They are such a nice family. I’m glad they’ve become a part of our church family. 🙂

Busy having too much fun!

Sorry I forgot to post those pictures yesterday–we were just having too much fun with Nana & Bumpa!  🙂  We enjoyed delicious homemade BBQ chicken pizza and, in fitting with tradition, watched the Muppet’s Christmas Carol before bed.  As I write this Chloe and Nana are at the grocery store, Josiah is taking a nap, and Tim & Bumpa are working on projects at the other house.  So, I thought now would be an excellent time to upload some pictures!

Here you go! (oh and as a side note, the shower is located at a very awkward angle to fit a camera in the room to get a great shot.  This is the best I was able to get!  :))

Working on caulking... it was getting quite late, so my enthusiasm was waning

Project: Done!

We’re on the road to my folks house for a visit but I’m happy to report that we were able to finish the tub surround. We were up until 12:30 finishing the caulking, but we really wanted to get that done before leaving so it would have time to really dry while we were away. So, it was worth the lack of sleep. 🙂 For the most part I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I forgot to take a completely finished picture before we left this morning, but I have some in progress pictures I’ll post later today. The camera is in the trunk right now so I can’t get to it…

Happy Friday everyone! 😉

Our Thursday Project

Today we are tearing out the old tub surround and installing a new one. Sounds easy, right?

Hehe!

We shall soon see! Pictures to come later. So far we’ve torn out the old one, realized the new one is shorter, had to make our first trip to the hardware store, and spent more money than we expected… sounds about right.

Christmas Shopping!

I’ve braved the crowds this week to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping.  It really wasn’t bad until last night.  I had one more item to run out and pick up for Josiah and it was CRAZY–it felt like Black Friday all over again.  🙂  But I wasn’t in a hurry so I just let the crazy people scuttle around me as I meandered through the stores.  This year we did our shopping a little later (and a lot online) so it hasn’t really felt like Christmas so me until now.  Plus now that we have snow I feel much more festive as well.

Yesterday I was going to head up to visit Shannon but Tim came down with something yucky, so I had to stay home.  I was bummed but I’m glad to report that Tim is feeling a lot better today.  He’s actually eating real food again this morning!  I’m just glad that he got it yesterday and not closer to Christmas.  We think it was perhaps food poisoning because there weren’t many other symptoms which leaves me hopeful that no one else will catch it.

Tomorrow (or more likely “today” when you read this post!) we’re heading to St. Cloud for Tim’s side Christmas.  Chloe is quite excited to see all of her cousins –she reminded me again as she was going to bed tonight… 🙂  I’m excited to hang out with everyone and enjoy some festive food!  I’m sure I’ll have a few pictures to post soon!

Before I go, here is a funny picture of Josiah waiting anxiously for the cookies to bake.  I thought it was so funny how he kept peering in to check on them.  He’s a hoot these days!

ooooooooooh.... cookies......!

Recital Success!

Another recital day off without a hitch.  🙂

Although I did have 3 families call that morning to say they couldn’t make it (sick or stuck in bad weather)… but other than that it went great.  And even though it had to be on Saturday instead of Sunday I only had a few families that had other conflicts and had to bow out.  So I was pretty pleased.  We also had to move the recitals later in the day because of (more) scheduling issues so they were at 4:00 and 7:00.  That meant that we had enough time in between to order pizza and just relax for a little at the church.  Plus then I had my Sunday free, which was a really odd feeling.

Hmmm.. I just re-read that last paragraph and it is very disjointed.  Oh, well.  Onto the more interesting part of the recital–PICTURES from the recital!
