Writing about all the big & little things
I saw this picture this week and it made me smile. So, I thought I would share it with ya’ll. 😉
Today is cold and drizzly and, well, let’s face it–Monday.
Ah, Monday. The day to quick get everything done I really should have done over the weekend, but got too lazy or busy to accomplish. It’s my catch up day and usually a guilty day since I realize just what I “forgot” over the past two days.
The good thing (see, I can actually think of a good thing) is that by the time Tuesday rolls around I’m feeling much better. 🙂
The house will be nice and clean again. The laundry will be finished and folded and put away. My will-power will have returned so I can make better food choices…
So, let’s go! Let’s conquer this Monday! Ya-hooooooo!
1. Today was the “Grand Opening” for our church in the new movie theater–It was awesome!
2. I went to my first ever tour of a couple Parade of Homes houses and had a fantastic time.
3. My mind is abuzz with house plans now.
4. This morning, while playing onstage during our worship set, my keyboard somehow got stuck on + 1 octave higher making my introduction sound like a tiny set of kids toy bells.
5. I’m sad that I just remembered I forgot to call Krista back this weekend (boy did that weekend ever go fast!).
6. We’ve come down with minor colds this week but I’m hopeful they will pass quickly.
7. I’m excited to make a ham tomorrow in the crock-pot so my house will smell good!
Chloe had her check-up today. I’m happy to report she is healthy, tall, inquisitive, well-hearing and cheerful. She placed 99% for height (42.25 inches tall) and 92% for weight (43 pounds). The big dread for today was having to get a shot, but she didn’t even flinch or cry or anything. I was so pleased! Of course, the promise of a sucker may have helped things along… 😉
This week has been full. I forget how tired I get the first week back into everything. But it’s been a great week–I was more on the ball with being prepared with all the details this year. So even though I’m tired, I’m not frazzled. Which is a very good thing!
We started BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) this Wednesday as well. Chloe is very excited to start going to class again, and I’m excited for some routine. We had a hard time going to her first class (there was crying and clinging to legs…) but when I picked her up she had nothing but good things to say. Hopefully next week she’ll just prance right into class without a second thought. 🙂
And just because I didn’t write anything about Josiah, I thought I’d post a picture!
Chloe was invited to her very first Birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was tonight, and since it’s a teaching night Tim graciously agreed to take the kids. Chloe was very excited–although it sounds like she was a bit overwhelmed by the noise and ruckus… she came home with lots of trinkets and stories. 🙂
Here’s a picture from tonight of Chloe with the birthday boy (a friend from church)
Somehow the days have slipped away from me! Is it really already September 10th? I was so focused on Chloe’s birthday and making it memorable that I totally lost track of my days…. whooops! So before the day is over, let me say…………………..
Happy Birthday, Mom!!!!
I love you so much and am proud to be your daughter. Oh, and I had such a great time talking with you tonight!
I decided to have a garage sale this past week, very last minute. But I completely lucked out because our neighbors across the street also had a garage sale, so my little piddly sale was well attended largely due to their nicely plump sale. 🙂 And like I said before, I had priced most of my thing for $1 or less so I wasn’t out to make a lot of money–just get rid of stuff. And I’m happy to say that I got rid of 75% of my items.
My goal was to make $50.
And here’s why…
I bought a double jogging stroller off of Craig’s list last week for $50. So, my goal was to make as much as I spent to even everything out.
And I did! 🙂 Yippie!
The stroller is awesome–it even has a wheel in the front that can swivel or lock (which was very important to me). And it’s in great condition. Chloe and Josiah LOVE going for walks in it. And I’m super excited to be able to enjoy long walks this fall to watch the falling leaves without having to fight with Chloe about needing to go further or faster than her little legs can go. They both sit in the stroller like angels talking to each other and playing with toys–it’s great. 🙂
I’m aware that I’ll probably only get good use out of it for this fall, since Chloe is already so big in it (ah, the problem of having big kids!). But it was totally worth it for me. And now I feel so much more at peace about spending the money since I was able to cover the cost with stuff I was going to get rid of anyway!
Oh, and of course, there is the added bonus of being able to get some exercise too! 😉
Today I decided (last minute) to have a garage sale to try and get rid of some of the “stuff” I’m trying to purge. It went pretty well. When you price things for mostly $1 or less it takes a while for the money to add up. But it’s not all about the money this time around–I really just want to get rid of things and I logically had too much to fit in my car to take to Goodwill, so this way I’ll have less to haul over when I’m done! 🙂 Yippie!
We’re going to set up again for a little while tomorrow, to see if we can’t get rid of a little more… but not for too long, because it’s Chloe’s Birthday, and we have lots of FUN things planned. 🙂
I’m planning to hop back on here and write more later today, but for now I’ll simply update my totals… 🙂
80 Toss / 81 Give = 161 Total (only 339 items to go!)
Is it just me or does it seem like I’m moving like MOLASSES?!? But my pile of stuff is finally too big to keep in the house, so I think I’ll need to find a spot in the garage… so at least that’s encouraging. 🙂
