Writing about all the big & little things
I’ve been busy researching property rentals for our next Fritz Family Gathering the past couple of days, which is really sucking up a lot of my time. My desire to get a good deal and find the perfect location/house keeps me searching and researching for hours.
And then, of course it was Mother’s Day weekend so I didn’t get much done over the weekend… and yesterday and today were spent making up for not doing as much over the weekend. Ha!
I promise I’ll post more this week. I’m definitely feeling the effects of being pregnant lately–by the time I finish teaching for the night my brain is mush, so I’m going to bed earlier and earlier. 🙂
Before I go, here’s a fun picture of Maddie from this weekend. She is LOVING being outside and getting more and more comfortable crawling and cruising along things. I fully expect her to be walking before she turns 1. (Which is fine with me, since I’m getting so big it’s hard to carry her everywhere!)
I took this video yesterday and it completely cracks me up. She throws her head back and does a really silly laugh. Tim said it looks like she’s howling at the moon. HA!
In other Maddie news, she is becoming more joyful again now that she’s getting more mobile. Yippie! She’s pretty proud of herself when she can crawl across the room to get that amazing toy she’s been eyeing… or Chloe’s book… or a crayon… or a piece of lint…
(As a side note: I took this video on Saturday morning–she’s much more proficient at crawling today, after only 3 more days. It’s amazing how quickly they learn these things!)
I never did post anything about Easter. We had a delightfully low key day. We went to church, dyed eggs, had an easter egg hunt, ate a scrumptious meal, watched a movie… it was awesome. I took a few pictures of the easter egg hunt, but they weren’t very exciting. And we agreed that we have a ton of pictures of the kids together (since we just did our photo shoot with Tara recently) so we didn’t even take any Easter family pictures. But I did manage to get a couple pictures of dying eggs. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter too!
In order to not raise suspicion about doing a photo shoot for announcing the pregnancy to the kids, I made them believe that we were just taking individual pictures of them since they were getting older. And especially since Maddie is now sitting all on her own–I really wanted a picture of her sitting for our photo wall.
So, these are some of the AMAZING pictures we got of the kids (before the real excitement began…). A huge shout out to TGB photography again for her wonderful work.
Maddie has officially moved to the next backwards facing car seat. She is not longer an infant–she doesn’t fit in the infant carrier anymore. 😉 Josiah is absolutely thrilled about the change and has been asking non-stop to go somewhere (anywhere!) so we could try out the new car seat. Lucky for him we have Bible Study tomorrow morning so he’ll finally get his wish.
My baby is getting so big!
The other morning when we were all getting ready in the morning I noticed that Maddie has a large discolored spot on her heel. It was a greenish/brownish/purplish/blackish spot. Not quite the color of a bruise, but close. It didn’t seem to bother her at all, but it sure bothered me!
I quickly tried to remember everything we did the day before. Were there any new foods? Did we play with markers? Did she step in something? Could Josiah have done something without my seeing? What socks was she wearing?
After thinking long and hard, we couldn’t come up with any good explanation for the spot. Ugh. I hate unsolved mysteries.
What would cause a discoloration like that with no pain associated? Care to venture a guess?
(P.S. I did figure it out. And I’ll post the answer on Saturday.)
