It’s that time again. Time for me to talk about weight loss. I know, it’s not an exciting topic for everyone, but it’s on my mind–as it always seems to be after I have (yet another!) baby.
So, I’ve give you a second to leave if you want.
Ok.
Go ahead.

Still here?
Ok, here we go!
I’ll admit right off the bat that I’m pretty bummed about having to lose this baby weight again. It’s not that I’m at all unhappy about having Levi–he’s great–it’s just that the last time I lost all my baby weight I *thought* I was losing it for the last time. It’s just a mental battle. So, here I am, all over again… losing that same 50 pounds. Again.
But alas, no good can come of dwelling on the negative, so onward I go.
My (Fritz) family has started up another friendly weight loss competition again this year. We started on January 2nd and it will last for 12 weeks. The winner will mostly get bragging rights and a little prize money. 🙂 I’ve decided if I win that I’m going to put that money towards new running shoes. Hopefully looking at my running shoes every day as I exercise will motivate me to stick with it! 😉
We did a similar weight loss challenge last Fall. I won. 🙂 Not to brag. Well, actually, YES to brag. Ha! I think that’s why I’m having a hard time getting super motivated to do this one… I mean, I JUST did this weight loss thing last year. And I won! It’s just not quite as fun to do it all over again…
I will say, however, that since we started the weight loss challenge 3 weeks ago, I finally am starting to feel like myself again. I haven’t really lost a tremendous amount of weight yet, but I can already see a difference. Slow and steady. I remember that’s what made my weight loss last Fall so effective. I wasn’t focused on the total amount I wanted to lose or adding up my total weight lost–it was more about checking to see if I was going down every week, even if just a tiny bit. 0.2 of a pound is still downward progress. And enough downward progress will eventually get me to my goal.
The kids are enjoying me working out again. It’s pretty funny. In fact the other day they decided that they wanted to exercise with me…
Plus we are all eating a bit more healthy now that I’m back on the bandwagon. We actually have a variety of fruits and veggies stocked now and we’re ending up with more leftovers since my stomach has shrunk a little since doing this. I think that’s what I noticed first. I used to be able to eat and eat and eat before feeling full, and now I get full so much faster. Last night we had tacos and I was stuffed after 2 tacos and I remember at Christmas we had tacos and I think I had 5. Yikes!
I think that’s where I’ll stop for today, otherwise this post is going to go on and on. But tune back in on Thursday for my thoughts on N.S.V.’s 🙂 Wanna know what those are? I guess you’ll just have to come back soon!
I know what an NSV is 🙂
At least, I think I do. Haha!
I bet you do. 😉
