The last week has been a whirlwind of activity. I’m a bit exhausted and definitely looking forward to a very low key day tomorrow. So let’s see, where to start? Hmmm… Here we go!
Thursday: Chloe and I set out to my folks house! We spent the afternoon enjoying the gorgeous weather–running around on the farm, watching the chickens, etc. We also set up the toddler bed for Chloe to sleep in which was a big deal for her. It was her very first night in a “big girl bed.” And all things considered she did quite well, except she rolled around all night and I was afraid she might roll off… Of course, she didn’t. 🙂 After supper, I went to the musical “Mame” with my Mom while Dad babysat Chloe. The musical was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Chloe & Dad walked to the park and played on the swings and did all sorts of fun things, except go to sleep apparently. When it was time to go to bed she kept sitting up to talk to him and then she’d lie back down and then sit back up & down & up & down… well, you get the idea. Luckily, she did eventually go to sleep.
Friday: We were up bright and early. I went for a run while Mom & Chloe had breakfast. Then everyone was off to work and Chloe and I packed up and set off to Shakopee. Before we left, though, Chloe had to have one last visit with the chickens (she is absolutely in love with those chickens! She even brought a book out and read it to them… ) We took our time and stopped at a rest area on the way home to burn off some extra energy. It had a playground and Chloe enjoyed playing and running in the grass.
Saturday: We enjoyed a relaxing morning and then packed up to head out on the boat. This was Chloe’s first time ever on the boat so we didn’t plan to make it a very long outing since we weren’t sure if she would like it. She actually did quite well and only had a meltdown when I tried to pry her off of me to let Tim hold her… So, I just kept holding her. We did take a picture of the two of us on the boat, but it didn’t turn out very well, so I’m not going to post it. But if you envision me holding an unhappy looking toddler looking quite rigid in a restrictive pink life jacket you would have the correct image in your head. hehe… After Chloe and I spent some time crusin’ around the lake Tim dropped us off and he took out 2 friends from church tubing for a while. We headed home to get her down for a nap and I needed to pack so I could head to St. Cloud to spend the night with Shannon. Our evening took a turn for the unusual b/c of the weather–we ended up having to sit in the back of the Target in the mall b/c the sirens went off while we were shopping. It really wasn’t all that bad though, b/c we just sat and chatted the whole time. And of all the places, I feel like a big store like Target would probably be quite safe. After we were finally released (and we were able to pay for our stuff) we perused the mall and then made our way back to her house. Later there was some really awesome lightning so we went outside to see if Shannon could take a few pictures and ended up standing in a downpour huddled under a tiny umbrella–haha! We must have looked a bit crazy, but it was fun.
Sunday: Triathlon day! But since the post is getting long… let’s save the triathlon story for tomorrow shall we? 😉
I’m looking forward to hearing about your race. You’ve been plenty busy, huh?
