It was raining when we got up this morning. Before Tim left for work I asked him how long it was supposed to rain and he said it was just about done (or at least I think that’s what he said–I was still pretty sleepy). So I busied myself with cleaning the kitchen and reading some more of my book while I put off going for a run. I was hoping if I put it off long enough it would have passed. By 10:00 the rain had subsided to a gentle mist, so I checked the radar and there wasn’t anything else coming (you can see where this is going, right?).
As I continued on my run the mist turned very slowly into a harder mist and finally an all out rain. Luckily I have an umbrella tucked away in the bottom of the stroller for such occasions. I tipped the umbrella over the front of the stroller (letting Chloe hold the handle) which very effectively kept her dry for the rest of our run. I, on the other hand, ended up quite drenched. At least it was a nice cool rain which made for a rather enjoyable run. The only annoyance was that my ear kept plugging with water which made it hard to hear my headphones, so I kept having to stop and dry out my ear. I suppose I looked a bit loony running with an umbrella covered stroller in the rain, but sometime you just gotta do what you gotta do!
I took this picture after we got back from the run–thoroughly wet. If you look very closely you can see Chloe peeking her head around the edge of the stroller looking quite happy still.
After we returned the rain had pretty much let up, so Chloe wandered around playing with the umbrella while I chatted with the neighbors.
I love these pictures of Chloe! I keep coming back to them for a smile!
