This week is our city festival. It started yesterday and runs all the way to Sunday–quite the hoo-rah. Tonight they had a huge booth gathering down at Huber Park with all of the local businesses advertising. We walked down (since it’s only 8 blocks or so from our house) with Chloe in the stroller to take a gander at all the festivities. After perusing the booths and food tables we decided against purchasing food tickets and I bought a bag of cotton candy instead. Chloe was quite hesitant to try the cotton candy, I suppose b/c it feels a bit scratchy when you first put it in your mouth. Anyway, it was a delightful evening for a stroll.
I’m looking forward to a few other activities as well, over the next few days. We haven’t decided whether or not we’re going to keep Chloe up late for the fireworks on Saturday night, but then there is also a parade, on Sunday, that goes down 10th street which is just 4 blocks up from our house. I tried to take Chloe last year, but it was nap time and she just fell asleep in her stroller. I think this year she might even enjoy it!
Well, off to bed! I only have one more day to get another practice run in before my race in Winsted on Saturday. I have my fingers crossed for a nice cool NOT humid morning. 🙂 We’ll see if I get my wish…
