Writing about all the big & little things

Too tempting for Chloe

So, this might be the last year that we can put our Christmas gifts under the tree before Christmas.   She’s tried to tear the paper on one of the gifts a couple of times…  I guess it’s just a little too tempting.  But I also knew this point would come eventually.  I remember the excitement of waking up Christmas morning and seeing all of the gifts.    And that magic can only happen if we hide the gifts… So, this might be the last year we have the gifts out.

And I do love the magic of Christmas.

I realized that we’re finally to the point where we can start family traditions that Chloe might start to remember.  This year we tried to frost molasses cookies together.  I have such fond memories of making and frosting molasses cookies at Christmas so I thought it would be fun.  It didn’t work very well.  We sat down together at the table and started to frost our first cookie.

Then we took a cute picture….

Then she ate the cookie.  And thus ended the fun frosting experience–because then she wouldn’t help anymore… all she wanted to do was eat the frosting and cookies.  🙂

Hey. It makes more sense. Do you ever put butter on your bread and then save it? Or put dip on a chip and then put it in a box for later? I’m with Chloe. Let’s just frost ’em and eat ’em!
