Writing about all the big & little things

Longer update… to make up for a short update yesterday

Well, it’s official. Chloe is sick. She spent practically the whole day snuggled on the couch or on our bed with a fever. Poor girl looks and sounds so miserable, but she has (thankfully) not thrown up yet. I know, knock on wood… She just has a really high fever and severe cold like symptoms. There has been a lot of strep going around, however, so we’re going to see if we can get her in tomorrow to get checked. If it is strep I want to be sure we get her on medicine quickly so she doesn’t contaminate all my students.   Hopefully we’ll be able to get her in tomorrow morning and find out what it is.  I’m not at all worried that it’s something serious, but still it’s nice to know.

In other news, contest is less than a week away.  By this time next week I’ll be completely done with everything at the U of M–I’ll just have to spend the next day helping tabulate all of the results… but at least the stressful part will be over.  I have a tedious “to do” list to accomplish tomorrow but nothing too big and after that is completed, things will be coming along nicely.  Which I guess they should be since I only have five more days to get stuff done!

Chloe and I watched Monster’s Inc. yesterday night.  I just love that movie.  I was a little worried that she might be afraid of it, but she wasn’t–it helps that there is a little girl in it that she liked.  I remember thinking the girl in that movie was the cutest (cartoon) girl I had ever seen and hoping that I had a daughter as cute as that someday (even though I knew she wasn’t really real).  And I have to say, after watching it again last night I had to laugh because I find Chloe just as adorable.  Plus, of course, there is the added bonus of Chloe actually being real… haha!  It’s just amusing to me how your perspective changes over the years.

I have 6 of my own students participating in Finals this weekend–I’m excited to see how they do.  It would be fun to have at least one in the Honor’s recital again this year.  Plus I’ll actually be able to enjoy the recital because I’ve already said I won’t be the Usher Chair this year.  Which is probably a really good thing since I’ll be a month and a half away from my due date and very huge by then.  🙂

Speaking of huge–I’ve started to dip into more and more of my maternity clothes.  It’s fun to rediscover clothes that I really only wore for a few months before.  I’m a little worried about what I’m going to wear this weekend since I don’t have a lot of “fancy” maternity clothes and I want to look really put together… maybe a trip to goodwill is in order.  I’m over half way through my pregnancy now and starting to feel much more pregnant.  And just this past week I’ve started to feel the baby kicking a ton.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy feeling the baby move around.  🙂

Kicking baby = most fun thing about being pregnant, hands down!
