Well, my sickness has morphed into what feels like a regular (but highly annoying) cold. I have been sneezing and blowing my nose constantly today, which combined with itchy eyes and feeling drained, is just annoying. But I’m happy that this is something I’ve dealt with before–and not the weird lung tightness and painful raw throat. So, as happy as I can be that I’m still sick, I’m happy it’s a “normal” sickness.
But besides still being sick, we had a good day today. We made a trip to the music store to pick up some sheet music and also a guitar strap and amp for Tim. He thought he was going to be able to start learning the bass without an amp but he found that the low tones were too low to really hear clearly (or tune). So we decided to buy one. Luckily he was able to get a really good deal on the bass and we went for a cheaper amp so even if he doesn’t take to the bass we haven’t invested a ton of money into this. But I think even if he doesn’t like it I would try and give it a go, so we’ll see what happens.
We also worked on cleaning out the basement a bit today. I was just checking all my other family websites and it sounds like today was a very good day for cleaning for everyone! The basement was in dire need of being vacuumed (cobwebs!) and organized a bit. We were able to toss a bunch of junk and get rid of some boxes that we discovered were quite moldy from the leak we have in our wall… it felt good to get that gross stuff out of there. And now we’ve uncovered the leaky wall so Tim can take a closer look at it tomorrow (since we’re supposed to get a big storm) to see where the water is really coming in. Ah, yes, the joys of owning a really old house. 🙂
Chloe has discovered playing outside again. She asks to go outside probably 6-8 times a day–which isn’t a bad thing at all. Except that she’ll play outside and then holler for us to come and play with her. Silly girl. She’s slowly learning how to entertain herself outside again and also that not all bugs are scary. It will take a little while for her to get used to being able to get dirty and enjoy playing by herself, but I know she’ll get it. We also pulled out the bubbles which she’s having a delightful time with. I’ll have to take a picture tomorrow. Oh, wait, it’s supposed to rain tomorrow… well, then on Monday. 🙂
