Today is Tim’s official first day back to work. So, we were all up bright and early to see him off. Well, I had actually hoped not to be up quite so bright and early but Chloe heard him get up and that was that. But it’s better that she’s sees him leave because then I don’t have to answer the question “Where’s Daddy” a million and one times today. 🙂
We’ve had a fine day. I was able to get a few random things accomplished around the house (like cleaning out the freezer), made a trip to the grocery store, and had time left over to enjoy the gorgeous sunny afternoon. Now I’m trying to wrack my brain to think of where I put the sidewalk chalk left over from last year. I know I had a whole huge box left over… and it’s such a perfect day for it… grrr… where did I put it?
I was thinking about you today. It has to be a bit of a shock to the system to go from having Tim there much of the time to dealing with the long hours that he’s gone when we gets into his busy season.
I’ve been praying about that too, especially that Chloe will adjust to not having him around all day. This is the first year she will really notice the difference, I would think, but she is also more able to verbalize her feelings. Maybe you could change her sleep times a little, so she is up later at night to see him longer, then just let her sleep later in the morning.
