Writing about all the big & little things

And NOW I can relax. :)

Today went great.  Another recital day done!

I didn’t realize how much I was stressing about having the baby early (I know this would have been really early for me, but you just never know!) and having to figure out what to do about the recital.  Tim and I talked earlier this week and we had discussed him having to pull off the recital by himself if I were to have had the baby earlier in the week.  It would have been just too close to call off the recital completely–especially with all the hard work everyone had put in.  But thankfully we didn’t have to figure any of that out, since I obviously didn’t have the baby.  (whew!)

And today went really smoothly.  It’s so much fun to have more advanced students than beginners.  For so many years I’ve had an overwhelming number of lower level students and not many advanced, so it’s fun to watch it slowly progress to the opposite.

After the recital the Bakers, Jen and Pasty all helped clean up and then we came back here for pizza and family fun.  The kids splashed around in the kiddie pool and we watched some t.v. and sat around chatting.  It was nice to just relax for a while.

The only big bummer for the day was that I forgot to take our “recital” picture of Chloe and I at the piano this year.  I’m really sad we forgot.  I might get us dolled up again and walk down to the church tomorrow and take a picture with my camera and remote just to have one from this year…. We’ll see… 🙂

Oh, and I do want to throw out a huge THANK YOU to Jen who volunteered to come over and watch Chloe on Saturday so I could get all my recital stuff done.  It was amazing.  I was able to run all my errands and work on programs and certificates all without Chloe asking her endless questions.  It would have been a terribly stressful weekend without Jen!  Thank you Jen!

I think it has to do with knowing someone who had their baby really early, because I never worried about having my baby until about 3 weeks before it was due, because I was told that they could come as early as 2 weeks before the due date, and I didn’t know anyone who had theirs early at all. Anyway, I’m glad all went well and another recital is over with!

    Love,
    Mom

Kristen–yeah, this was definitely the better face for Kieren of the two pictures I took. In the other one his eyes look rolled back into his head… 🙂
