Writing about all the big & little things

Faith Like a Child

About a week and a half ago I was putting Chloe down for the night and after reading her a bible story I asked her if she wanted to pray.  She said yes, so I asked her what she wanted to pray for.  Usually she says a family member (such as Nana, Bumpa, me, Tim, Bakers, etc.) or things she likes (such as her giraffe’s or crackers).  But she thought about it for a while and said she wanted to pray for my PUPPS.  I was a bit surprised and asked her again, just to be sure.  Yup, she wanted to pray for my itchy PUPPS.

“Dear Jesus, thank you for PUPPS… ” and then she went on and on with a lot of words I couldn’t quite decipher until … “Amen.”

I smiled at her and said thanks.  Then I prayed for her and my PUPPS as well before tucking her in and kissing her goodnight.

Well, wouldn’t you know–my PUPPS are now gone.  I’m hesitant to admit this because it seems once you say something like this then it mysteriously reappears, but it’s been a good week now and my skin is clear.  I haven’t had to use any type of cream for over a week and a half.

Who knows if it was the prayer of my two year old that helped heal my body, but who’s to say it wasn’t?

I feel incredibly lucky.  Or maybe I should call it blessed.  It is a tremendous blessing to not have to worry about how awful the PUPPS might get this time.  They did appear a bit earlier in my pregnancy this time around so I was anxious about having to deal with them for almost 2 months before my due date.  And now, it seems like I won’t have to!  Or at least I can enjoy not having them for now.  I suppose there is always the possibility that they could reappear, especially in this incredible heat… but you never know.

I love that. I miss the confident innocent childhood prayers. I could learn a lot from Chloe.

Hallelujah! I’m so happy for you. And so thankful for Chloe! And you, of course!

    Love,
    Mom
