Writing about all the big & little things

1,000th Post!!!!!

Today marks my 1,000th post. Can you believe it?

That’s a lot.  I feel so accomplished.

So, now I guess the next big number to hit will be 2,000… 😀

Tonight was the dress rehearsal for “the” wedding.  You know, THE wedding.  The wedding that Chloe has been talking about for literally months.  We had a long conversation this morning about how everything was going to happen, and what we expected from her.  She was very prepared by the time we arrived and she did quite well.  The only problem was that she would sometimes walk down the aisle without actually throwing any petals… but she still looked super cute!  So, we’ll see if she remembers to toss the petals on Saturday.

Chloe was the only child at the rehearsal.  Well, actually technically it was her and JD… it was weird to be the only people with kids.  Nowadays we’re just to used to being around other couples who have kids!

I’m playing piano which went quite well (the bride finally met with me yesterday to finalize the music… nothing like waiting until the very last minute!) .  It’s large wedding party (5 bridesmaids / 5 groomsmen) but the church is quite small so I really don’t need much music at all.  Plus I only showed her music that I was comfortable playing on short notice, so I don’t have to stress about learning something difficult in just one day.  She was pretty indifferent so it worked out fine.

Now Chloe only has to wait until Saturday to finally get to wear her new dress and shoes.  It’s going to be such a let down when this is all over!

Take pictures, though, and she’ll love remembering it for weeks and weeks! So exciting!

I’m always baffled by people who don’t care what music you play for their wedding – it is a big part of the setting of the wedding but all they seem to think about is clothes and flowers. At least we wedding musicians know what is beautiful and appropriate. That is why we get the “big bucks!”
