Saturday was a gorgeous day for a pumpkin party–and we definitely took advantage of the lovely weather! The day was filled with hanging out with friends while carving pumpkins, throwing around the football, warming up around the fire pit, eating scrumptious food, sipping hot cider and catching up with friends we literally only see once a year. All in all it was a smashing success. Here are some (okay, a lot) of the picture highlights of the day (I’m trying out the gallery setting on the site so to see the image larger just click on it):
- Our finished pumpkins
- Finished pumpkins–not quite as impressive in the daylight
- The Nelson Family and Rebekah
- Clive was dressed up as a Care Bear–so cute!
- Clive (5 months) and Josiah (3 months)
- I think they’ll be buddies
- Teagan working on her pumpkin
- Chloe and Jace wanted to “sit and talk by the fireside” I kid you not, that’s exactly what they said!
- Look, I blend in with the pumpkins!
- Aldrich Family
- The big kids all snuggled in, ready to watch a movie
- Acorn cookies I made–festive, huh?
- The awesome “Peg Pumpkin” for the kids
- Our happy little family on a lovely fall day!
Oh, and I should tell you what the pumpkins are in case you can’t tell… Starting on the far right: a snarling bear, then a scarecrow holding a welcome sign, then pooh bear’s honey pot, then pooh bear himself, then a joker-like face and then a smashed pumpkin. About that smashed pumpkin… it was actually a dragon face made by the Aldrich family, but while taking their family photo the little boy accidentally dropped it and it all fell apart. Whoops! It was alright though and they were able to laugh about it. 🙂

The stunned look on Josiah’s face in your family just cracks me up! 🙂 It’s a great picture, though.
Wow, what great pix. It is so cool that you all get together every year for this family event. And you have more and more kids involved in the fun. Did you ever expect that there would be more kids than grownups?
I love the peg pumpkin. What an awesome idea!
