I spent the morning at the new house getting the yard more presentable. It still has a ways to go (LOTS of weeds to pull, and I’ll need to go back to mow it on a lower setting…) but it’s starting to look nicer. The kids had a really great time playing in the yard and on the back deck.
I need to go back and take some real pictures–so far the only ones have been documenting the exact state that the house was when we moved in. This is the only “real” picture I have…
So exciting! Are the kids understanding what is happening? I guess I’m thinking of the “renting” vs. “owning” state of affairs and why you would have to move soon again and why you might not unpack everything here. And, I suppose, why they have to be more careful of this house, because it isn’t actually theirs, but it doesn’t sound like that will be an issue, the state the house is already in! I hope you are having fun sprucing it up and making it look loved again.
yeah, I did have to explain why she wasn’t getting her OWN room in this house since I’ve been telling her that she wouldn’t be sharing with Josiah in our next house…. and now she still will be. But once I explained that this is where we are going to live while we CONTINUE looking for our next house she understood. She’s been doing really great so far. And every day she begs to go back over there and help clean. 🙂
They should pay you to do neglected lawn work 🙂
I think the house looks cute and I am so happy for you! (Other than the wild paint colors in some of the rooms I don’t think it looks bad at all). I can’t wait to see your pictures of it. I’m sure the lawn part is tedious. We had a house on our street that was for sale for awhile and it literally looked like an overgrown field. “Grass” dandelions etc. up to your knees. I hope yours isn’t in that bad a shape!
