Writing about all the big & little things

Another problem…

Not a problem to do with contest though…

I just found out that the church that I normally hold my studio recitals doesn’t have the baby grand piano anymore.  Apparently the piano player left the church and took her piano with her.  I didn’t even know that she owned the piano… but now it’s gone.

And now I’m going to have do a little searching around Shakopee to see if there are any other places that we would be able to hold our recitals.  I’m a bit bummed  because we’ve had our recitals at the same place for so long that it was comfortable.  Everyone knew how to get there, and the church has always been so nice to me (even offering to let me teach out of one of their classrooms this past fall if I wasn’t able to find a rental house that would work!) and it used to be nice and close.  Of course, now it’s not as close anymore… 🙂 But for someone who doesn’t like change, this bums me out.

So, onto new (and hopefully better) things!  And who knows, maybe I’ll find an even better place, right?!  😉  And Shakopee is a big town, so I’m sure there’s places out there.  I just have to start looking.  So, that’s what I’ll be doing this next week!

Good luck on that. Be sure to ask all your students’ families. Chances are they know some places that have a grand piano.

The Chetek Senior Center just had a grand piano (an electronic player piano, no less) donated to it, so I might have my recital right there this year. So far, though, they haven’t gotten it tuned. When I checked yesterday, the whole keyboard part was gone. Wonder what’s up with that??!!

Wow. Never thought of a church member owning the church’s piano! God will provide. Your mom gave some helpful suggestions regarding students families being aware of other options.
