While we were visiting Shannon last week she let us bring home a bunch of apples from their (overflowing) apple tree. The kids were helping me pick them, so I ended up with a few unripened ones… but that’s ok. When I got home, I went straight to work making applesauce. And I even got to use my new favorite item–my food mill! I would need to add a little bit of sugar if we eat it straight, but I’m hoping to use it as an oil substitute in a few things.
Fun fun!
That looks yummy!
I tried an apple off our tree yesterday and they were still really, really tart!
We made applesauce this summer, too! My great-grandma had a tree that did really well this summer. I was surprised by how easy it was to make. We added sugar to ours.
