Yesterday we made one final trip to the beach with the Bakers. I didn’t keep an exact count of how many times we ended up going this summer, but I’m pleased that we were able to go a handful of times. And yesterday was just the perfect weather to be at the beach. We did have dentist appointments for the kids to take care of first, but it gave them something to look forward to afterwards. Maddie hasn’t always enjoyed going to the beach, but she actually did quite well, and after a rough 30 min. actually perked up and started laughing and having a grand ol’ time.
In other news, last night was Chloe’s open house at school. On open house night she gets to bring all of her school supplies to the classroom, meet her teacher, order yearbooks, put money in her food account… etc. She was so excited and nervous. We knew that her really good friend (Monica) from last year does not have the same teacher, so she was anxious to see who was in her class. She did end up knowing quite a few of the kids, although she was quick to point out the boys that were “trouble makers” from last year… which she wasn’t as pleased about. 🙂 By the time we left, though, she exclaimed that she wanted school to start RIGHT NOW!
And as a side note, she wanted to dress up for the open house. She even wanted fancy hair (it’s hard to see, but it’s a bun with a braid around the edge and a white bow). At her open house the teacher had a water bottle for every student to take home. She really liked that.
Such a big girl – I just can’t quite get over that! I love her plaid dress and plaid backpack, too. When does school actually start?
