Writing about all the big & little things

Spring Recital Sucess!

Recital day always seems to go by so quickly.  It feels like just a few minutes ago I was getting all my stuff ready by the door and now I’m sitting at home looking through all of my pictures from the day.  Both recitals went just wonderfully.  This time it was quite a bit more challenging having Chloe for the whole time… we’re pretty sure next time we’ll need to ask someone to watch her for at least part of the time.  Tim said he was having a hard time getting everything set up while trying to keep an eye on her.   She’s tall enough & mischievous enough to pull the cake and punch off of the table now…  For the 4:00 recital she stood with my by the front door to welcome everyone.  Most of my students (and parents) don’t get a chance to see her ever so they are always surprised at how big she is now.  She didn’t have her full out meltdown until we got home–and I think she was just hungry, b/c after we sat down and had a late supper she was much better.  (although she was very tired too since she didn’t get her afternoon nap…)

Here are my highlight pictures for the day!

I loved the decorating on the cake this time–very fun.

And of course the cover contest board.  It’s always so hard to just pick one per recital…

Chloe and I were having fun on the piano after the recital.  I’m going to try and remember to take a picture at the piano after every recital so I can watch her grow up through the recital pictures.  Who knows, maybe some day she’ll even get to be in the recital!

Here’s my 2:00 recital performers (although some of them had to scoot out early to get to a soccer tournament)

And my 4:00 recital (which you’ll notice a few girls in soccer uniforms coming just from a tournament!  what dedication to make it to the recital)

And finally a fun picture of Chloe and me.  I know, I know, I take a lot of these… 🙂   But it’s just so darn cute!

Love how Chloe is holding her hands in the perfect rounded position! Good teaching Mom! Had fun at the recital, but I’m sorry we couldn’t stay and help with Chloe. We’ll try harder next year, since we’re there already.

I, too, love the one of Chloe and you at the piano. It really looks like she is playing a duet with you. I’ll bet in about 3 years, she really will be playing a duet!
