It’s been abnormally rainy the past couple of weeks. Now don’t get me wrong, I like rain. And I particularly like not having to water the lawn. It’s nice to have everything lush and green. But it’s been really rainy. So today when the sun came out I was quite happy. My flowers finally started opening up to enjoy the warm rays.
I started my summer lessons yesterday and today. I only had two families forget to come–which is always something I tend to expect during the summer. During the summer I’ve condensed my schedule to 2 full days (Tues. & Wed.) and a morning (Thurs.). I’m happy to have my Monday and Friday’s free…
Yesterday between lessons I replaced the screen on our front door. I have to do that every year or so b/c Dende jumps up on the door which rips the screen (this is a point of frustration for me, but he’s done it for long enough that I think it’s a lost cause now…). I went to the hardware store and asked how much it would be to have them install the screen on the frame for me. They said between $12 – 17. I asked how much the screen only would cost. They said about $3. This was a no brainer. I bought the screen and came home and installed it myself. And if I say so–it looks great. 🙂 I hadn’t realized how trashy it looked having the ripped screen. But it’s all fresh now.
Chloe has finally outgrown her high chair. She sits in her booster seat with us at the table now. I haven’t decided if I should store the high chair in the basement or leave it out for the rare occasions we might need it. Plus it’s holding the extra diapers… Either way, it’s fun to eat with her at the table. She is unbelievably chatty when she eats. She’ll just keep pointing out different things to me. Sometimes it will catch me really off guard. For example she saw a drawn picture on the table of two people holding hands. She pointed out that they were wearing shoes. And then, that they were holding hands. I had to laugh, b/c I know she had never seen the picture before–she’s one observant cookie!
The neighbors house is FINALLY finished–they wrapped everything up this afternoon. Now all that’s left is for them to move the giant dumpster out of their driveway… Anyway, I’ll post the pictures tomorrow.
Before I go… a funny random picture! Do you see the smiley face? Stacy and I saw this truck on our way back from vising Holly a few weeks back. It was so funny to me that we had to capture it on film. It makes me chuckle.
