Yesterday, when I went to bible study, Tim took this adorable video of Chloe singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. It just cracks me up how she changes some of the words, but keeps on going–careful to jump back in on the words she knows. I’m surprised at how much more she seems to be picking up almost daily. We’re working on her ABC’s now. It will take a while, but she’ll get it eventually.
Yesterday during my crazy day of scheduling I let Chloe watch “Blue’s Clues” for the first time and now she’s hooked. It actually worked out absolutely perfectly, b/c she sat watching intently which is just what I needed yesterday while trying to sort out emails. I’ll have to remember that trick again… anyway, she’s started asking for it now. 🙂
In other news…
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this here, but I’m doing another race (5K) this Saturday. It’s in Winsted–I’ll be racing along with Nathan & Amy! It should be great fun. I’m just crossing my fingers that it’s not nearly as humid as it has been the past couple of days… sticky and icky make me sick-y. 🙂 However, I’m a little worried about the race since it’s longer than my last one. The one thing that keeps me going is that if I do awful this time I won’t be letting my team down, since it’s only me!
I’m on the lookout for a good egg-bake recipe. I made my very first egg-bake ever this past week and I was a bit disappointed. So, if you have any good recipes, I would love to try some out.
August is officially here. And that means I’m into my last month of vacation. I’m sad. I have thoroughly enjoyed the time outside and especially with Chloe, watching her morph out of a baby. She is daily displaying more “little kid” characteristics, which is exciting and yet saddening all at once. The one ray of sunshine, however, is that at the end of this month (okay, technically at the very beginning of September) my little brother is GETTING MARRIED!!! I’m am thrilled for him–and his wonderful fiance. I’m sure I’ll have pictures to share!
I love the video! Ack!! She is so cute!
As for the race, this is your first 5k. You have no time to beat. Whatever time you finish with will be your personal best for a 5k and the time you try to beat for your next race. This fall, when the weather is cool, you’ll be able to really see how fast you can run!
I have a good egg-bake recipe. I’ll try and email it to you tomorrow.
Oh, what a cutie! And Tim is so good with her. You are such a wonderful little family. I’m so lucky you are mine!
Love,
Mom
