Well, I’ve made it through another lesson sign up day. I was up early to be ready for the chaos–which started at 7:00 a.m. went solid for three hours until I finally took a break and was able to walk away from my computer. I counted up the number of emails I got in the first hour: 33. Yup, and I’m proud to say I responded to all of them. 🙂 As of right now I haven’t heard back from 4 families, but otherwise the fall schedule is DONE! My total email count for the day is 67. So, I’m exhausted. I’m down to the unenviable task of letting those last 4 families know that all that’s left in my schedule are late slots (8:30) and Friday night… I’ve only had 2 families respond negatively which I’m sure is just out of frustration at not getting their first choices.
I’m happy things are pretty much settled. I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Aaaahhh….
I really don’t think you should take it personally if people aren’t happy about not getting the slot they wanted. You’re only one person! One totally amazing piano teacher person who people FLOCK to for lessons. 🙂 And you can’t travel through time or anything to make it work out for them. 🙂 I think you did amazing coordinating that many people in one day! I couldn’t do it, that’s for sure.

Ditto. I don’t think there is a more fair way to do sign ups, and everyone was informed, so if they forgot, that certainly isn’t your fault. Don’t concentrate on those 4 – think about the huge group of kids you got scheduled all in one day! Whew…
