So, what did you do today?

Today I made ranch burger buns–but something didn’t work right.   They took a ridiculous amount of time to rise and then ended up really flat on the bottom.  I had to cook them longer than normal just to make sure the center was done.  Overall, not my best baking.  I might try again later this week.  I think I may have had the water too tepid when I added it to the yeast… at least that’s what I’m hoping b/c I don’t know what else it could have been.  Luckily all the ingredients are cheap and I have more to try again.

I only have 3 more days of lessons before my Christmas break!  Wha-hooo!  But that also means the Christmas recitals are just around the corner.  I decided this year to try printing the programs on my own computer instead of taking them to Office Max to get copied.  I’m never happy with the quality and I’m pretty sure I can do it cheaper from home.  Plus there’s the added bonus of not having to leave the house.  🙂

We’re starting to look ahead to “Potty-Training-Monday” so I’m finishing reading the book that Kristen recommended.  It’s called “Toilet training in less than a day.”  It’s a lot of basic information but it’s always nice to have some reminders of what works well and what doesn’t.  Especially if I’ve never done this before.  I’m very hopeful this will be a piece of cake… but I’m sure every mother goes into it thinking that same thing!   I have to get to the store and pick up some juice for her before Monday, and check and make sure we have everything else we need.  I’m excited to see how it goes.

I heard we’re supposed to get some more snow tomorrow and Thursday.  Did I mention that the blizzard we had over the weekend was the 5th worst in Shakopee’s history?  I tell you this town is strange… flooding in the Spring and Fall and now a blizzard.  We sure know where to live, huh?  😉  Well, life is never dull here!
