As most people are doing today, I’ve been looking back over the past year. It’s amazing to me how quickly a whole year has flown by. And, I guess more amazing to me is how the years seem to be flying by faster and faster the older I am. But it’s been a good year. God is good.
January… I finally acheived my weight loss goal! I made it back to under my pre-pregnancy weight. Which is terribly ironic to me now as I’m ballooning up… haha! Other than that it was a pretty quiet month.
February… I was able to help throw a baby shower for my dear friend Shannon! I even made her a diaper cake. It was such a blessing to be able to celebrate with her especially after having 2 miscarriages.
March… was pretty much a blur. I was so crazy busy with state contest stuff that I don’t remember much. Looking back at pictures, however, I did discover that March was when the flooding started. Remember the flooding? Yeah, this was the FIRST flooding of the year…
April… things started to warm up and start to get green. Nothing much in this month except I must have gone to a few early garage sales because I came across this picture…
May… little Xavi was born! I was able to drive up and see Shannon in the hospital and hold Xavi for a while. Ah, newborn babies… 🙂
June… I helped with the Honor’s Concert. Actually I was the Usher Chair, which I only agreed to do for one year… but the concert itself was awesome. It’s breathtaking to hear 20 piano’s being played at the same time. Also this month marked the end of the school year and the start of my more relaxed summer schedule. Yippie for summer break!
July… Kylene & Justin came up from South Carolina for a visit on their way to a family reunion. Then Chloe and I joined them to visit Grandma Fritz. It was a fantastic trip–so many memories I had a child were just like I remembered them. This month I also participated in the Annandale Triathlon (just the running portion) which was a hoot. I’m not fast, but at least I finished!
August… I ran in the Winsted 5K with Nathan & Amy. It was a drizzly chilly morning but we persevered an I finished in a great time for me (under 30 min. if I remember correctly). Tim also took me to see “Wicked” at the Orpheum Theatre, which was AWESOME! The rest of the month was used for wrapping up summer lessons and gearing up for the Fall.
September… Luke & Krista got married!!!! It was a beautiful wedding and such a delight to be there. The only downside that I can remember was the Justin & Kylene’s hotel room smelled so badly of smoke that they had to move to a different hotel at 11:00 pm. But other than that it was a wonderful weekend–and such a pretty town! Also at the beginning of this month Chloe broke her forearm. She got to wear a big pink cast for a month and then a purple half cast for another 2 weeks. Very exciting. And she seemed to love it. Weird, huh? Oh, and it also flooded again, this time reaching a higher level than it did in the spring. Flooding twice in one year–unheard of!
October… Tim went out to visit his Grandma & Grandpa in South Dakota to help them get ready to move. That’s my hubby–such a hard worker! 😉 Chloe and I stayed home so we weren’t in the way… Oh, and we had our annual pumpkin party, which is always a blast (albeit a little chilly).
November… Lots of crazy lesson stuff and meetings and helping my students get ready for Theory exams and the Ensemble Festival. All of which I don’t have any pictures of. We also got a crazy early snow storm in the beginning of this month that happened to fall on the same day as the Chaska Turkey Trot 5K–that Nathan & Amy still participated in! Now that’s dedication!
December… Another successful Amadeus Academy recital completed followed by a spectacular Christmas. We also worked on potty-training Chloe. Oh, and of course! We announced the expectation of our second child due in July. We are beyond thrilled. All in all, I would say not a bad year. 🙂
I love the last photo of you and Chloe.
Wow, what a year! I just love that you are so thankful for everything that comes your way. Life is a lot about how you look at things and I’m so proud of you for finding the good in every situation. I consider an optimistic outlook a great gift from God and I’m glad you have that gift. May 2011 bring you even more delight!
Love,
Mom
