So, I’m having second thoughts about my “What’s That?” Wednesday idea. It was fun for a while and the intention was to make it an easy picture post, but I’m finding that it’s taking more time to figure out what to take a picture of than to just sit down and write something. So… that idea may be on it’s way out…
I’m very tempted to take my darling sister’s idea of “Wordless Wednesday” and simply post a picture of anything so I wouldn’t have to write on my busy day. But I need to ask her if she would rather I come up with something creative on my own… 🙂
So for this week, it’s a writing post again.
It’s been a long day. I had 6 lessons today before 11:00 this morning and then another 1 just after lunch and 11 more tonight. That’s 18 lessons in one day–that’s a lot. But it’s normal for most Wednesdays now that I think about it… in fact I even had 1 cancellation! Sheesh! No wonder I’m so tired by the time 9:00 rolls around…
I didn’t have much time to take a nap today because of so many lessons but there was a 30 min. chunk of time that I was sitting waiting for my next student and Tim let me fall asleep in the chair. It’s crazy how fast I can fall asleep these days. He even got a kick out of it–I was awake one second and then the next sound asleep sitting in the chair! I think I have a problem…
This week seems to be flying by so quickly. I’m excited for contest this weekend, however I don’t anticipate many of my students passing to the next level. It’s all about the experience of going and being proud of them for learning (and memorizing) such a difficult song. Plus it’s important to learn the hard lesson of disappointment which is a part of life. It is a bit of a bummer that we live in the twin cities, however, because state-wide we have the smallest % of winners. There is a certain number of winners that can advance to State Finals and that percentage is divided by the number of entrants in each district… and since we have the largest district we have the smallest percentage. Which means that the small districts get to pass along almost every student to finals (even if they are not spectacular) just because of the percentage. Does that make sense? It makes me want to live in a smaller district… 🙂 But it’s not all about winning, like I said above.
Dende has “let himself” out of his kennel twice over the past 2-3 weeks. It’s a problem. Somehow the clasp must not have been latched all the way and he is persistent enough to keep at it until it unhooked. So we came home from church the other day and he greeted us at the door. Which shouldn’t happen… Anyway, since that he’s been getting worse about his kennel again. And then you throw the seizure on top of that and it’s back to “pull-my-hair-out” category. Last night was particularly bad (although I must admit I did sleep through most of it). Apparently he kept whining and scratching, until Tim finally went down and put his gentle leader on him, which seemed to do the trick. Ugh. I long for the day we can have a bigger house and put him in the basement!
Wordless Wednesday! Go for it. 🙂 I stole the idea from somebody else.
Sweet! Thanks Kylene!
