Judging

Well, I made it through:

~ 7 hours of judging

~ 50 min. lunch break

~ 56 students judged

~ 1 extremely sore neck from looking down and writing

~ 3 extremely sore fingers from writing (I only had a thumb cramp once!)

~ 1 satisfied Erica. I made it.  🙂

It was a very interesting day.  I’ve been in charge of judges for a couple of years for Finals, but it was different to see what they actually go through–that is an intense day.  I ended up missing my morning and afternoon breaks because I was behind.  It’s tough to write so quickly and think on your feet.  I did start to catch up by the end of the day.  And, as a funny side not, there were 13 songs on the contest list and I think I only heard about 6 different pieces.  Let me tell you, I was pretty tired of a couple of them by the end of the day!
