Writing about all the big & little things

Kids and Stress

Interestingly these two topics are not related.

I’m stressed about judging for the piano preliminaries tomorrow…  I’ll be there from roughly 8:00 until probably 6:00, which makes for a long day.  I’ve already packed my bag-o-stuff and I’ve laid out my outfit but it’s just the stress of the unknown that has me worked up.  I’m also quite concerned about my ever failing body these days:  will I have to go the bathroom in the middle?  will my back get stiff?  will I get a headache?  will my hand cramp up from all the writing?  Yikes!  I’m sure it’s not going to be as bad as I envision it…

Chloe had the unique opportunity to see her cousins on both sides today!  Nathan and his family swung by just for a few minutes to pick up our air compressor so Chloe and I went out to see everyone in the car.  And then just a few minutes later the Baker kids showed up to spend the night.  The evening went quite well, with only a few meltdowns (um, by our darling child, of course) and the only real hiccup we had was putting everyone to bed.  Chloe and Kailynn were just too chatty so we had to separate them.  🙂

But now everyone is asleep which is where I intend to be very shortly, too.   Night!

When I read your title, I was a bit worried, but I’m glad to see that everything seems to have gone okay last evening. I hope your day today goes well. And don’t think of your body as failing! You’re growing a new person! It’s simply adjusting to the increasing demands being put upon it. 🙂
