So, I guess I spoke too soon about Chloe getting better. And about not catching it.
On Tuesday night we went to bed feeling fine and by the middle of the night both Tim and I were feeling awful–he had the shivers and I ended up throwing up in the early morning. Combined with body aches and intensely tight lungs, it was no fun at all. So, I got up early and quick canceled my morning lessons and booked us all appointments with the doctor that day. I know it seems a bit hasty to go to the doctor so soon, but Tim has been struggling with tight lungs for a few weeks now and Chloe had a high fever on Sunday which developed into a nasty cough by Wednesday… and I have the contest this weekend! So if it was Strep or something like that I wanted to get on medicine right away so I wouldn’t be contagious.
So, we went to the doctor.
And he said it was nothing. Probably just a virus–like viral bronchitis or something like that–that will simply pass with time. He did give me an inhaler to help loosen my lungs (Kylene, you would laugh because I had to sit through a demonstration on how to use one!).
Tim even had x-rays done of his lungs since this has been an ongoing problem, and they still couldn’t find anything. So, he was prescribed an inhaler as well.
Chloe wasn’t prescribed anything. She’s doing the worst out of all of us. She slept basically all day yesterday, maybe up for 4-5 hours the entire day. Today we’ve been trying to keep her up a littler longer but she’s been super lethargic and had chills tonight. I’m hoping her little body kicks whatever this is soon…
On a positive note, however, I’m feeling much better today. In fact, I still taught all of my afternoon/evening lessons yesterday and today. I was very careful to not sit too close to the students and sanitize a lot… I’m unbelievably thankful to not have taken the brunt of this “bug” especially with contest only two days away.
Anyway, that’s the update from here.
It sounds like your family took quite a “hit” health-wise. Your little girl sounds very sick though. I hope the doctor was right about Chloe’s diagnosis and that she perks up real soon. We know so many kids and adults that have struggled with various illnesses this past month. Will be happy to see winter move on and spring move in.
Sorry you are all still sick. Sending more hugs for all of you. Hope you are on the mend and will be energetic by Saturday.
Love,
Mom
