Writing about all the big & little things

The Royal Wedding

Okay, okay I admit it.  I watched the “Royal Wedding.”

Actually, I taped it when it was on a few weeks ago. It’s fascinating to me, but I wasn’t on-board with getting up at 4:00 in the morning to watch it live. So, Chloe and I enjoyed watching it on and off during our leisure time over the next couple days.  And actually Chloe did enjoy watching much of it with me (she really liked seeing the flower girls in their fancy white dresses).  I especially enjoyed the mens/boys choir music sprinkled throughout the ceremony.  The cathedral had such amazing acoustics for a live choir and orchestra.  I also just love watching things in other countries since traditions and everyday life is sometimes so different than what we’re accustomed to here.

One of the funniest things that struck me as I watched all the guests arrive was how many women wore hats.  And not your run of the mill hats. Extravagant hats.  Some of the hats were positively ghastly, while others were tasteful and elegant, but overall hats were very prominent.   That’s just not something you see much of anymore around here.

I saw this picture posted on Facebook tonight and it made me laugh at the comparison.  The real couple is, of course, newly married Prince William and Princess Kate and the two girls are actual guests, Beatrice & Eugenie (the daughters of Fergie).

Isn’t the comparison funny!?  🙂

I’ll bet Beatrice and Euginie didn’t like that comparison much!

    LOL… probably not! 🙂
