Writing about all the big & little things

True Love

Well, Tim officially knows the way to my heart.  Yup, you guessed it:  ice cream cake.  🙂

He came home with a special cake, with an “8” even written on it, for our anniversary.   Just in case you’re wondering he did also give me a sweet non-edible gift that I also love and will last much longer than the cake… hehe… We both had to laugh when I said I was more excited about the cake right now, but I blame a lot of that on being so massively pregnant.

In other news, the weather today has been absolutely gorgeous.  And I admit I feel a little guilty about that after reading Kylene’s post and hearing how it could reach 120 degrees with the humidity as high as 75%.  But then I remember why we live in Minnesota.  And even though our nice days are much further between than theirs in South Carolina, I’ll soak up these beautiful, mild, breezy, non-humid, sunny days while I can.  So, sorry, Kylene…

Since it was so nice, Chloe and I spent a bit of time outside this morning.  We even went to the park for a bit and then walked across the block to a neighbor’s garage sale (where we picked up 4 adorable dresses and some other shirts, pants, shoes, & a Thomas DVD all for only $1 a piece, yay!).  Chloe has already chosen the dress she wants to wear on Sunday–so hopefully I won’t go into labor on Sunday morning, b/c I would feel bad if she didn’t get to wear it!

This past Sunday we put on Chloe’s fancy cream dress shoes and I realized that they are already just about too small.  She’s just been growing like crazy this summer!  But I’m super bummed because those are the shoes she was supposed to wear for the wedding in August.  So… I’ll have to keep my eyes open for cream dress shoes at garage sales, or pick up a new pair at the store before the wedding.  We’ll see if I can squeeze her feet in the shoes in a couple of weeks and decide then.

Last night I slept terribly.  I kept dreaming I was going into labor and it would wake me up.  Then I would have to try and calm myself down and realize I wasn’t in labor and then try to go back to sleep.  It was exhausting.  Luckily I was able to take a short nap this afternoon, so I’m not feeling too drained anymore.  I truly cherish these naps since I don’t know if the baby’s schedule is going to line up at all with Chloe’s nap-time when he comes.   🙂

Looks like Chloe is pretty excited about the cake, too!
